How do you release the grudge?

i have got a huge grudge against jehovah and his "organization".

i feel like it has ruined my life and any chance of a relationship with god..(if there is one.

) my immediate family has disowned me along with everyone i was comfortable with my whole life.

I've been quite lucky in my exit process. It's hard for me to give advice when my situation will probably not be as hard as yours, brainwashed-from-birth. But I can at least tell you that reaching out and connecting socially has helped tremendously. I'm meeting cool people at every social event--much better than the "wasteland of evil people" the WT tried to spook me with!

You may not have what I do, but just look for the good people in your locale. It's a start. Keeping busy with all the things you couldn't do will help, at least for the time being, to distract you from Borg issues.

This board will certainly help. But even I found it good to take a vacation from reading about Borg drama, just to keep my sanity.

If you dwell on your hatred, the Borg wins. If you give them the middle finger, you win. You've gotta be flippant about it.

I know I hate it. You cannot make a move in your life without asking what the FDS or GB says or if it is in some WT somewhere. Why not say what does the Bible say but JW's do not think that way.

Oh, the Bible? That's just something for the outsiders. It's rather insufficient for nitpicking and categorizing disfellowshippable offenses.

Local needs

i recently d/a and wrote a letter concerning my views at the same time.

a few weeks prior a bro was d/f, now i know they normally have local needs talks shortly after these announcements which speak about the sin without naming the person.

what alarms me is that they are having a series of these talks.

First off yellow, I'm glad to hear that you've done yourself a favor and DA'd.

To make a long story short, these "blame and shame" local needs are needed, at least for the elders to maintain control over the sheep.

Don't bother trying any legal action. You have no evidence, and therefore no case.

what sports are frownd upon by the WT

i joined a gym recently an.d the instructor was telling me that i would be good at starting out with some boxing due to my size and speed and previous experience prior to being a jw.

i am not sure at my age if i want to start that up and i am sure that as i fade, that it would not be in my best interest to draw unneccesary attention to myself.

but it led me to thinking.. in the usa, we are told that some sports are violent and should not be viewed.

even as a loyal jw i though thought our singing was pretty crap.

now, i sometimes catch a religious service on the radio and cannot help thinking how much better 'worldly' churches are in their approach to the use of music in their worship.

personally, if i were going to choose a religion based on music, i'd have to join a church with a gospel choir; i just love the warmth and enthusiasm of gospel music.. .

I'm not sure about lyrical content, but there were some songs that didn't sound like funeral marches. In other words, I think they're taking pages from better, more classical hymns.

I remember when she was telling a story about her show before Gloria Steinem and some other feminist icons. Wanda made this joke: "Sorry ladies, I'd like to go on, but I have to get home and cook my husband a hot meal." Apparently these feminists didn't find it amusing.

A revolution this will not make. But hopefully people will feel slighted for having their beloved factory sold, and will speak out about their feelings. I know it's a lot to hope for.
