A whole bunch of them leaving on the same night will create uneasiness for a time...especially if these ones weren't known for being "troublemakers."

HOW ABOUT THIS FOR A CONSPIRACY THEORY!?
by Gill ini was surprised to find that charles taze russell, of the russell family line (of course) was reportedly part of the setting up of the skull and bones society.. i have read many refutes that ct was a 33 degree mason but, let's leave that as a possibility along with his 13 bloodlines of the illuminati link and consider this scenario as a possible and worrying possible conspiracy theory.. fritz springmeier and some others (again all holding suspension of our disbelief in control here for a few moments, please), commented on the setting up of internement style camps around the united states and some pictures and sites are to be found on the net.. now, there are various 'christian groups' all anticipating the 'time of the end'.
the jehovah's witnesses, for example are expecting to be persecuted and then 'saved' by god.
they anticipate 'the end' at any time.

That's a pretty stark theory. Good thing it could never, ever happen.

Excommunication/Disfellowshipping is pagan practice--by request!
by Atlantis inexcommunication/disfellowshipping is pagan practice!--by request!
request from researcher: hi atlantis or n. or whoever!
one of my friends on the board said that she downloaded the 1947 awake pdf that "bereanbiblestudent and invetigator 74" posted, and in the first issue on page 26, it said that excommunication or disfellowshipping was a pagan practice.

So, they were against disfellowshipping before they were for it...
Typical!
Thanks Atlantis/Berean/Investigator74!

HOLY CRAP, JamieBowers, I think I saw this guy get thrown out, the MatthiasChurch guy!!!
He was at the San Diego convention. I'm not sure if it was him--looked a lot like him though! I remember seeing a guy being followed out by two attendants, carrying his cooler. This guy was in shorts and flip-flops, as described.
I'm gonna message him to see if it really happened.

A pity that she did not deem all those poor children trapped in prostitution rings in numerous places around the globe worthy of being prayed for.
Too bad the "pray for self-serving blessings" arm of Christianity has to be one of the more prominent arms. My house gets plenty of those "winking scented prayer-rug Jesus" letters.
But I believe in a higher power, too! It is the Shredder God. And I feed him with Winking Scented Prayer Rugs, and lo, he doth bless me until I have no more want.

Gosh so many corrections I don't know where to begin. As a mother of a child with Down syndrome here goes:
It's not Down's syndrome. Dr. Down doesn't own it. It is Down syndrome
Our children HAVE it but it's not who they are. They are NOT Down syndrome kids. They are people who happen to have Down syndrome. I have a daughter. I have a little girl. She happens to have Down syndrome.
Excellent point. The story started off in an offensive manner, as I noticed like you did.
It took 3 years for the coincidence to occur. And for Song19's mom (my inlaw), it took 20. I guess most JWs never took a course on probabilities and distributions in university!
Hey, given more time, just about any coincidence can occur! (Pray enough to win the lottery, play everyday and you are bound to win something! Then attribute it to God.) Damn, now I see why some scientists support evolution, but must give BILLIONS of years for it to occur lol!
Another good point. That story--assuming it has some ground in truth--is nothing to be exited about.
The bottom line , as some previous posters stated, is if Richard was really being given proper attention by the witnesses who knew his mother , then 3 years would NOT have gone by for this man to be shown " loving " assistance. It just goes to show that many times the "caring " shown to others by Jehovah's Witnesses- ends as soon as they walk out the kingdom hall doors. Peace out, Mr. Flipper
Good observations, all. Funny....these stories never did "warm my heart" even when I was in. There was something very off about them. Now that I talk with critical thinkers, it's making sense. There's nothing divine about this story. A guy with DS finds a guy who just happens to be the same religion. Wonderful.

Why do they have to pour salt in this man's wounds?

Disfellowshipped for Beavis and Butthead
by donny ina friend (who no longer attends meetings) told me about an incident about seven years ago in north carline involving one of her male friends.
this friend has ceased believing the society's diatribe for some time and was only staying in it in order to associate with friends and family.
he had visited a friend in a town about 30 miles away and heard a sunday talk from one of that congregations elders.
