  a little background: my husband and i are newly fading, er make that disappearing.

  i haven't been to meeting in months (and life has never been better).

  i made the god-awful mistake of not turning in field service time for september, the same week the co was in town.

  Trying to annul your baptism, WT says forget about it.

  the koolaid wt issue for february has an interesting article about when your baptism can be considered invalid.but the main thrust of the article is aimed at making it super clear that if you were present at your bapt.

  talk and answered the two questions then forget about it, elders are put on notice to not let anyone off the hook.but... if you were committing a serious sin and hid it at the time of your baptism, then it was invalid, and point is, they'd still announce you not being "one of j.w.s" so if you plead your case to walk away from the wt saying you didn't know what you were getting into, it will do no good, but it will be grounds for an announcement.just ol' mother wt tightening up loose ends.

  You've missed out on puking on your dub friend's doorstep because he made two ridiculously strong "drinks" for you, and you pounded the foul stuff down within a couple hours of each other.

  You've missed out on puking in your own car because your idiot friend who was driving locked the window and you couldn't get it open in time.

  You've missed out on puking in your sleep, because the beer and tequila you drank didn't want to go out through the basement, but wanted to go back out the front door, the way they came in.

  it still amazes me that i was a jehovah's witness for 27 years and never thought twice about these types of talks other than i need to make sure my act is together when the end comes, and now i can't even read/hear it without getting mad.

  australian senator xenophon slammed scientology in a speech in parliment.

  it was covered last night on national tv here by a current affairs program today tonight.

  by sheer chance (as i usually do not watch tv) it was starting when i went into my mil's room (she is a jw who lives with us) so i stayed and watched the program.. the senator stated at the end of his speech, "scientology is not a religious organisation, it is a criminal organisation that hides behind its so-called religious beliefs.".

  The fine art of refusing a Shepherding Call

  i'm pretty sure the forseeable future will include numerous attempts to "shepherd" my family.

  my elder status is either already gone or soon to be gone.. .

  does anyone know of specific rules when it comes to refusing a shepherding call?

  When they came to see me (Goof Ball Elder and the CO) I told them I wasn't home.

  To their faces. I would not recommend this tactic for everyone.

  That's actually pretty cool, I'll have to do that if they try to bug me.
