Is there any chance that if the CA Supreme court upholds the ruling, the WTS will go the final step to the US Supreme Court? Not knowing much about such things, is there any way that they can use the argument that for a State to legislate/dictate what is considered penitential privelege and what is not, is a violation of the 1st amendment? (sorry if this seem like a naive question) What kind of delay is involved? Any chance the CA supreme court will be as quick with a response as the last appeal attempt?

It would be nice to see a full scale documentary (at least 2-3 hrs, perhaps even a 2- part, 2hr each) on the history of the WTBS and its' doctrines WITHOUT any Christian, "alternative religious"or even anti-jw bias. I am fully convinced that the facts stand well enough on their own. Pointing out the falied prophecies, shifting doctrines, and controversial practices as simple facts without judegment would be a great thing to see in a well presented film. Such a show should also explain the WT side of things, the methods and explainations they use to justify themselves. Allow the WTBS reasoning and methodolgies be seen. Let history and current events speak for themselves. Anyone suppose this could ever happen?

Nope, never heard of it. ick. Still, I thought even if there was some kind of claim to consent, aren't sexual relations with a minor still considered 'statuatory rape'?

Is there such a thing as a 'consenting minor'? I guess I wasn't aware that it would ever be ok for a minor and an adult to have sexual relations. Is there such a viewpoint from a legal point of view?

What happens if the documents aren't or cant be produced? Are there any other avenues for the WBTS out of this? More appeals? How soon do they have to deliver the documents?

"Jehovah continues to leave the way open for them to return to him."
But does the organization?
Is Jehovah's way one of guilt, shunning, and fear tactics to induce obediance? Is this the way of Jesus? Should fear and grief be the paths to God or should love be? Does the organization imitate Jesus with its' harsh treatment of DF/DA ones? If guilt and fear are the results of shunning and one does return, whose will has been done, Jehovah's or the organization's?

Speech on Jehovah's Witnesses for College
by jayhawk1 ini have a speech to do for college speech class.
it is to be a persuasive speech and i figured a good topic would be; "are jehovah's witnesses rational?
" certainly with my background (being raised as one of jehovah's witnesses, then shown the ugly side while still an active member, and finally researching the truth about jehovah's witnesses) gives me a wealth of information to pull from.
