  anyone remember the picture of the dinosaur that used to be on the inside cover of the green bible?

  OK - back to the Dinosaur - would anybody like to speculate on:

  1. Why was it dropped, do new paperback bibles no longer have cover illustrations? Or was just the dino expunged?

  It was prob dropped because some killjoy at bethel mentioned that the kids down the hall were day dreaming about *that* dinosaur and wondering why those Vikings were going to italy, rather than paying attention to the meeting in progress. The black bible that came after just had a colour map of the various areas mentioned in the bible without any figures present.

  so, while i was finishing my repair, customer says "you can tell we're living in the time of the end according to the bible"... we were talking about barrack and current events.

  of course that tweaked my ears..."why you say that"?

  "look at the violence" she replies.

  A lot of other translations use the word "prepared" instead of "annointed" which has probably lead to the belief of those coming into the the truth from other religions that Jehovah somehow magically changed some big fish so that it could specifically swallow Jonah.

  Re the story of Jonah,

  We were all taught that that was true and we all knew of these stories of sailors being swallowed by whales, a quick search on the internet will turn up these stories but then you can also find "true" storys of smurf dolls coming to life and running out of kingdom halls...

  What is the dumbest thing you ever did?

  this may not be my dumbest moment, but i'm sure it ranks pretty high.

  when i was a young kid, we had a swimming pool.

  i used to swim just about every day after school.

  Once whilst still in the truth I was staying with my grandparents. I'd been out drinking with the brothers and had a bit too much to drink and i was dropped off really late. I left myself in and locked the door and i went to bed and quickly fell asleep. Shortly after I heard a ring on the bell and jumped out of bed still drunk, ran down the stairs and opened the door to my grandparents who had been out at friends. I let them into the hallway and because I was feeling cold quickly said goodnight and then ran up the stairs in front of them and got back into bed.

  It was only when i was in bed and snuggling down that I realise I was stark naked in bed, that i had openned the door to my grandparents stark naked and stood there in front of them and said goodnight!

  Luckily it was a sunday the next morning and i was able to slip out to the meeting then stay out all afternoon doing Fs !
