Did You Ever Tell Someone They Smelled?
by minimus ini was "assigned" by the body of elders to talk to a pioneer/ministerial servant about his b o. he didn't have a car and so was always put in someone's car group.
everyone complained about having to take him.. when i talked to him about his stink, he got very very offended and copped an attitude.
i finally told him that unless he started bathing and washing his disgusting oily hair, he would be removed from his assignments.....what i never understood is how anybody could be told that they actually smelled and yet get pissed off with me!.

by Lease ini cant even think of the lyrics because of another song in my mind.. the guy stutters in the song a little bit.. i remember hearing from a dj on the radio that this guy really did have a stuttering problem, and as a joke he sang the song, the group was surprised when the song was a hit.. however, when i told my friend this story, he said it was all false.. now that i want to do research on the computer about this song.....neither of us can remember it!.
anyone...anyone?.
even if you dont know the name....just a lyric from it.. thanks.

From Wikipedia:
You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" was written by Randy Bachman. In The Rolling Stone Record Guide, writer Dave Marsh called the song "a direct steal from The Who," but "an imaginative one." [ 1 ] The chords of the chorus riff are very similar to the ones used by The Who in their song "Baba O'Riley," and also, the stuttering vocal is indeed reminiscent of "My Generation." Randy insists that the song was performed as a joke for his brother, Gary, with no intention of sounding like "My Generation." [ 2 ] Gary had a stutter, and Randy only intended to record it once with the stutter and send the only recording to Gary.
Randy developed the song while recording BTO's third album, Not Fragile. It began as an instrumental piece inspired by the rhythm guitar of Dave Mason. Randy says "it was basically just an instrumental and I was fooling around... I wrote the lyrics, out of the blue, and stuttered them through." The band typically used the song as a "work track" in the studio to get the amplifiers and microphones set properly. [ 3 ]
But when winding up production for their second album, Charlie Fach of Mercury Records said the eight tracks they had lacked the "magic" that would make a hit single. Some band members asked Randy, "what about the work track?" Randy reluctantly mentioned that he had this ninth song, but didn't intend to use it on a record. He said, "We have this one song, but it's a joke. I'm laughing at the end. I sang it on the first take. It's sharp, it's flat, I'm stuttering to do this thing for my brother." [ 2 ]
Fach asked to hear it, and they played the recording for him. Fach smiled and said "That's the track. It's got a brightness to it. It kind of floats a foot higher than the other songs when you listen to it." [ 2 ]
Bachman agreed to include the song, but only if he could re-record the vocals first, without the stutter. Fach agreed, but Bachman says "I tried to sing it normal, but I sounded like Frank Sinatra. It didn't fit." Fach said to leave it as it was, with the stutter. [ 2 ]
It is said that Gary Bachman has since lost his stutter.
Well, i almost had it right.

Was There a Fictional Work Helped You Realize the Truth About the (T)ruth?
by BabaYaga inthe pen really can be mightier than the sword, and even fiction often carries much weight and powerful messages.. did you read a book or watch a movie that made you think?
did an "entertaining" work plant a seed of doubt?.
the first one i can remember making a definate comparison to the witnesses in my mind was ray bradbury's martian chronicles.

Ray Bradbury's "Farenheit 451", (read that when i first became involved with the witnesses).
Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaidens Tale".
Charlotte Perkins Gilman's "The Yellow Wall Paper".
It is not that i thought of the society and the truth when i read these books, however, there is something to take from these books that can relate to the witness life and highlights the erroneous/detrimental thought patterns or actions that i had while being a witness.
again, insightful topic.

...A Doggie Day in Hell...
by OUTLAW inever have one of those days..when you go outside, and part of your dogs throat has been ripped out?...
that was the begining of my day... i have no idea what attacked him..whatever it was,was f*cking vicious!
!..there was a 2 inch hole of missing fur and skin on his neck.....and a severed artery......also a 2 inch hole of missing fur and skin on his leg.....and..another severed artery.....there was blood everywhere... the nearest vet is 1 1/2 hours away..i phoned in and told the doctor to be ready for me... i tied the dogs wounds up with tee-shirts to try to minimilize the bleeding..then put a 100 lb bleeding dog,in the back of the truck..........poor dog tried to stand up in the truck..his neck started to gush with blood..i got him to lie down..the bleeding slowed.....i jumped in the truck and drove..that was one long hour and a half... the doctor came out..looked at the dog,ran back in and brought out a stretcher..it took three of us to bring him in so he would`nt move around..that dog has spunk!..lol!!.

these replys are too funny!
bringen: i use to eat the part of my meal i liked least and end with what i liked best. same with the sandwich. i'd eat the crust part first. then it dawned on me. i don't have to eat the crust, i am a grown up and i can eat whatever part i want.
vikesgirl101: a fun, adorable drunk i am sure.
cameo-d: didnt know there was a military style to folding towels.
again, these replys have made my day!

omg.....nnnoooooo!!! stay away from the kingdom melodies!
i guess everyone on this site is pretty normal though. no one seems to have any quirky habits. no nail biting. no jingling change in the pant pocket. no having to have your bath towels folded a certain way. maybe, we left them behind when we exited the org.
