Remember how great the get-togethers were in the 1980's??
by PaNiCAtTaCk ini remembers skating parties at least once a month, volleyball at the park, get-togethers where everyone would play bible charades and sing kingdoms songs, going to the river to swim with the whole congregation after the sunday meeting, spending the afternoon at the lake eating watermelon and water skiing.
it was a great upbringing!
also, i dont want to leave out the strong feelings of eliteness that i had even as a child, of having the truth.

Having moved around a lot growing up (60's, 70's, 80's) I can say that "fun" was a relative term. What you could do for fun depended on which area, circuit or cong. you were in. As for today, it does seem that there are less and less opportunities for getting together regardless of where you are from.

For those who were raised in "the truth"
by Hangin_on inhow many of you always felt like you would be killed at armageddon no matter what you did... it was never enough and your parents put a guilt trip on you?

Funny you should ask. I just realized that it never occured to me that I'd die at Armaggedon. I wonder what that means?
