What kind of hobbies would you like to try?
by Lady Lee inwe were deprived of so much as jws.
service and meeting had to come first which meant putting a lot of interests on the side - waiting for the new world when of course we would be too busy trying to convert the resurrected.
i've tried many different things.

My current ones are gardening and allotment gardening, we took on an allotment patch lst year its hard work but makes you feel good when the veggies on your dinner plate were sown and cared for by yourself! I'd like to do computer course and take up salsa aerobics, but have no one to look after kiddies in the evenings so they will have to wait another 10 yrs!

What did you have to dispose of when you became a dub?
by exwitless inlittle drummer boy's comment on the d&d thread made me think about this:.
when i became one of the borg, i threw out about $600 worth of pnp materials and books, a fact that i was proud of at the time and which makes me sick now because almost all of it is irreplaceable.
he also threw away who knows how many cds that were "bad" for dubs; also threw away a framed picture of a dragon that was really cool, and maybe some cool rock band t-shirts.. i don't remember having to physically throw away a lot of stuff, but i had to resign from the citizen's band i was in (played the clarinet), threw away my good friends from high school, etc.. what did you all throw away when you became dubs that you regret now?.

What REALLY Gets You Ticked Off???
by minimus inmy vent: people who put words in your mouth.
quoting you as saying something you never said or is taken out of context..

people who like to be heard and butt in when you were talking to someone first (one of my constant K HALL experiences)
When your'e old or heavily pregnant on a bus and no one will give you a seat or move their shopping off the empty ones
People who shut shop doors in your face or don't thank you for letting them through
People who spit on and assault my OH just because he asks for their train tickets and they want to travel free

Would'nt know where to start! Anything with James Mason in cos he's my all time favorite, Cary Grant, James Stewart with Harvey! Stewart Granger, i could go on. I saw a good film called The House on Telegraph Hill this week a blackand white thriller that was good. I like old black and white Hitchcocks too, Strangers on a Train and Spellbound. Joseph Cotton in Gaslight and in Shadow of a doubt.
Musicals like The King and I ,Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, (my mum loves that cos her dad used to live like that in Canada apparently), Calamity Jane - i love Doris Day!I've just bought all the Fred and Ginger films too - now i just need time to watch them! Ah they don't make em like they used to. I don't mind a good old western if james stewart or john wayne is in it, i was brought up on those. Not keen on many was ones though due to my dad watching the same one over and over...Guns of navarone?eek!

who would have thought about it?
by junctions-wife ini was at lunch the other day.
when i over heard an associate from the photo lab, saying that this would be her son's first birthday party.
then another associate asked is was a jw, and she said yes, but no longer.

Yes when i first thought about leaving and up to writing my letter i believed some of it was still the truth, but by looking into it more and often(!) and by the jws own actions towards me i now know its not.Thats a good idea though to do it in little bits, too much at once may scare her off if she's having a hard time, like divorce on top of everything else.

Should Britain Build a £100m Mosque for the Olympics?
by LittleToe ina poll is being taken by the british newspaper "the evening standard" as to whether or not britain should invest 100m in a new mosque for the olympics.
i have to admit i'm a little confused as to why folks would desire to have their tax money invested in paying for a religious building, given that religions are already tax free.
i don't see a similar offfer to build a new cathedral, synagogue or hindu temple, nor would i want to.

so far on the poll the majority have voted that it's a good idea!
