Beautiful country, Wales; spent a lot of time there in my youth, on holiday. Once visited a congregation near Belch Mawr (Conwy?) and a brother (elder) was talking about a once-in-a-liftime trip to Malta for an assembly. And there was this brother who had a really high pitched voice....

within a few weeks i leased a condo on the banks of the willamette river just out side the city of portland.
as she got into her car she looked at me funny again, laughed and just shook her head.. .
i told him that if i said i was sorry, i knew that is what they wanted to hear but it was not the truth.
i know if any of us had our way the org.
would be gone tomorrow.
but in realistic terms, what condition will this cruel organization be in in 20 years.. .
They will still be around but slightly different.
It will be necessary to tone down or get rid of unscriptural requirements and teachings. For example the teaching that Armageddon is imminent - you just can't go on shouting 'Ice-berg dead ahead!' for 150 years and not expect people to get a bit cynical, even JWs. There is also the publicly unacceptable face of JWism - the blood issue and disfellowshipping for example. The Internet will force the WBTS to face and alter their stand on these things out of necessity if they are to grow.
Because I believe the more harmful teachings of the WBTS will be downgraded and abandoned I think that they will be still going strong as a religion in 20 years time, although, as I've said, they will be a different religion than they are today.
I even think they will be bigger than they are now.
That is, if they change, which logic demands. On the other hand they could be so stupid and arrogant that they will refuse to change. In which case they are doomed. They are arrogant, yes, but I don't think they are that stupid!
As for religion disappearing altogether I think that's many hundreds of years away. It is too highly ingrained in all societies yet for that to happen.

i am new to this and just wanted to say hi!
i live in s. california and am looking for some good advice and/or friends in this area.
i'm sure i'm not the only mom here who would love to exchange ideas for kids' school lunches.
i don't know about anyone else, but my daughters' school (junior kindergarden - grade 8) has a nut-free policy that requires compliance for the good of the kids who have severe allergies to nuts.
pre-packaged foods have to be carefully examined for even traces of nuts.
Pasta!
My kids love it when I make a pasta in a small amount of bolognaise sauce which is put into a plastic food container topped with grated cheese and salad. The sort of pasta recipes served cold at buffets are much nicer than you would think. The only problem is you have to send a fork.
We get some great free plastic food containers when we order Chinese takeaway which are ideal.
just in case you've had a rough day, here is a stress management technique recommended in all the latest psychological texts; the funny thing is that it really works.

For some reason the previous host has bottled out of storing my picture so here it is again.
This was taken earlier this summer when I went camping on the East coast.
I've had lots of bikes including a Z1000 and GS750. It all started with my little Honda express moped at the sweet age of 16, moving on to a Suzuki GT185 which went like a rocket!

i've really been struggling over the past few months.
when craig and i got married, i didn't invite my dad to my wedding.
six weeks later he takes his life.
i know that i don't post often, but i read this board daily.
anyway, i just wanted to pass on the information that my father passed away last week.
he was 81 and in semi-poor health.
