by ballistic ini had an idea that i could build a uk map of everyones location which would show you instantly who is in your area from jwd.. (it might be an idea to do a seperate us one aswell but i'll wait and see if this one takes off first, or if anyone from the us wants to volunteer to do that one).
(and australia but you are all in the same backyard anyway - literally!!!).
anyway, all you have to do is post or email me your username and town and i will draw you on the map above which will change gradually to include everyone!.

A quote about what Armaggedon will actually be like when all those non-Jehovah's Witnesses are being killed is also useful:

by Elsewhere inok, it isn't really crack... but it might as well be!.
i have to be very careful not to leave any plastic bags anywhere around my apartment or my cat will try to eat it.
i'm always paying close attention to the plastic bags that i bring home from the store... they all go straight in to a covered trash can so that the cat can't get them.. now, for the last two days he has been puking all over the place and i can't find any plastic that he might have been eating off of... but i am finding the plastic in his puke... so i know thats what is going one.

Dyson Vacuum cleaners, give me a Henry any day
Yeah, I borrowed my sister's Dyson once and it really sucked...er...but my expensive Panasonic is even worse - there's so many filters in it I have to dismantle and clean it out every single time I use it!
Expensive vacuums are rubbish. I now use a big old Hoover Aqua Master I got for ten quid from a boot sale.

What are your thoughts on the composite sign?
by Leander inlately i've been giving a lot of thought on my decision to leave the wts behind and during the course of my musing i contemplated the meaning of the composite sign.
and then it kind of struck me that perhaps this composite sign was really just a declaration of the obvious.
for example some of the elements of the composite sign are: famine, pestilence, reports of natural disasters (earthquakes, etc..).

The 'composite sign' concept is a Watchtower creation.
If you read the scripture carefully you will see that Jesus is warning AGAINST viewing such things as earthquakes and pestilences as a sign of the end.
"Look out that nobody misleads you...You are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that you are not terried. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet."
Matthew 24:4-6
So, Jesus warned us of groups like the JWs who would try to mislead people in order to gain power for themselves.
Even that were not the case how long a time period is needed for a 'composite sign' to be fulfilled - an awfull lot of stuff can happen in a century, for it to mean anything the elements of the sign would have to all occur simultaneously over a very short time; a few months at most.

Direct attacks don't really make 'em think
i.e. 'Your blood policy kills people' just makes 'em feel persecuted, misunderstood; or they may even agree but feel that death is preferable to disobeying God.
You need something that isn't a direct attack (which puts the JW programmed shields up) but a generic appeal to think about what you believe, along the lines of:
Don't talk to me, you might learn something awkward.
How do you know if you're being lied to?
Oh No! Not another religion that believes it has the truth!
As soon as they try to defend what they believe against a knowledgeable opponent then they are doomed to face reality or retreat ignominiously.
