  i've heard that another 2 people have left the "truth" as soon as they could get out.

  both girls were elder's daughters.

  they aren't elders now because they were somewhat problem teens.

  two weeks ago i returned from an escape to truro, cornwall the toe of england where i rented an idyllic detached cottage with my other half.

  cornwall was bathed in sunshine and god was in his heaven instead of the box i usually keep him in.

  i think harrison ford is a good actor but not great.

  same goes for tom cruise.. patty labelle, i've seen a few times live.

  i've just read at a spanish forum for ex-jw that the wt has cooked a new light article series about social celebrations, including birthdays and aniversaries.

  according to a member of this forum 'in short' the wt will let witnesses to decide by 'their bible trained conscience' either they celebrate birthdays or not.

  is this rumor based in some real facts or it's just bullshit?.

  It's very difficult for JWs to explain why they can't celebrate birthdays - as the bible doesn't say you shouldn't. There is no scripture that forbids birthdays - so it can ONLY be a conscience matter!

  I remember those apostafests - great fun and I met some great people (and made an arse of myself after getting drunk at the last one so never went again!)

  I remember the first time we camped with Avengers and GermanXJW - what a laugh that was (don't let anyone tell you Germans have no sense of humour!)

  i was trying to watch this movie with will smith titled "seven pounds".. i got an hour and 15 mins.

  in and i just had to turn it off.. what a waste of time.. so what are some or your least favorite movies?

  or some you just couldn't finish, they were just so bad?.

  Hmm, I really liked the Matrix trilogy, and Excalibur!

  Talking of inept filmmaking - War of the Worlds, with Tom Cruise, really got me wishing the characters would die, hated it.

  Basically, it depends who you are and how much power they have over you as an individual.

  My daughter ( who still lives with my JW Ex) is heavily into cosplay - my Ex just turns a blind eye to it as she knows my daughter will not give it up and would tell the elders to take a long walk off a short pier if they tried.

  i had a call with a good buddy......still an elder the other night.. when i mentioned generations/overlapping.......he had no clue what i was talking about.

  such a good man.......... but it doesn't matter.....they don't even realize what is being said to them; what is being done to them.

  a high stature elder in their organization....and he had no clue there was another change..... how the hell does this happen?.

  Paragraph 2:

  'Are they prepared for the pressure they will receive to pursue higher education, date, and use alcohol or drugs?'

  WTF? I can understand parents being concerned about pressure to take drugs, but pressure to pursue higher education?

  Talk about brain washing 'em while they're young!
