I'm a Newbie!
by LucidDreamer ini've been lurking for about a year, and have finally decided to introduce myself.
i've been df'ed since 1987 and have been helped tremendously by various ex-jw websites to get the jw garbage out of my head.
i returned to college and am one class shy of graduating-in pr of all things!

LOL @ Simon! Must be a funny donkey!
I thought it might also be useful to have a Handy glossary for newbies:
JW = Jehovahs Witness
DFd = Disfellowshipped
DAd = Disassociated
Dub = Jehovahs Witness. (Stems from the W in JW.)
Borg = JW Organisation. Stems from cyborg race in Star Trek, which tries to assimilate everyone and bans individuality. All members are part of a collective as drones.
Drone = JW (see Borg)
WBTS = Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.
GB = Governing Body (JW leaders)
Any others that we tend to use without thinking?

Hiya Creamypink and Buffy.
I'm not DA or DF and strangely enough I'm not shunned either. (Perhaps it's because I live in the UK).
So many newbies these days, I can't keep up! Perhaps this increase is a sign of God's blessing!

Hypocracy with DFing policy!
by gumby insince the sept. 15th 1983. watchtower about "how to treat disfellowshiped ones", no change in policy has taken place.. in spite of this....many ex-dubs still have family members who still smile, wave, or talk to us.....why?
did they forget the policy?
do they have their own opinion on how tht handle this?

There certainly doesn't seem to be any unity in the religion on this one. It seems to depend on which congregation you are in, and which country, as to how DFd ones are treated. My nephew was DFd and all of our family talk to him, in fact he remarked to me the other day that JWs are nicer to him now than before he was DFd!!!!
European JWs seem a lot more relaxed about this sort of thing than the U.S. We seem to be able to re-structure what the WBTS say into a more user friendly version.

I measured mine - 9 inches !
by Simon inwhat were you expecting when you clicked that topic ?!?!.
actually, i read an interesting bit of trivia somewhere that said mens nipples are always 9 inches apart.
i measured mine and i'm spot on.. of course i'd be disappointed if all my vital stats were just 9 inches

Mine's 6 inches but I don't use it as a rule.
oh!, nipples eh... yep, nine inches.
