  Hey people, don't be so negative only pointing out that there are no concessions if one wants to use this arrangement to take care of a ill family member.

  "Special consideration should also be granted to pioneers who fall short of the annual hour requirement if they serve in construction oversight, as Assembly Hall overseers, or on Hospital Liaison Committees, Patient Visitation Groups, Disaster Relief Committees, or Convention Committees. All such assignments are forms of sacred service. The spirituality, availability, and willing spirit of pioneers allow them to support Kingdom interests in a special way."

  due to last years success, i will post everything related to the 2017 regional convention in this thread.. to start us off.... thanks to exjw reddit user ich3b we have advance notice of the theme (this is not a joke!).

  the theme for the 2017 regional convention is: "don’t give up!” .

  the archangel, an archangel

  i'm reading a book called "what to do when they knock" that goes over the jw book "what does the bible really teach?".

  it points out that the "bible really teach" book, on page 218, makes a bit of a point about there being only one archangel.

  it says michael is "the archangel" and emphasizes that "the" means only one.

  The WT is dead-set on the "Jesus-is-Michael" thing. And that's the end of that. No matter how many proofs you bring to the table, they just don't care.

  They will change this stupid believe ONLY if somehow it affects the $$ collection. I doubt it would.

  July's watchtower leaves out some important info from a quote!

  jerome over on discuss the truth has picked up on something interesting.. in the july watchtower on page 28 of the article entitled “winning the battle for your mind” the following statement is made “keep in mind that satan does not want you to think clearly or reason things out well.

  because propaganda is likely to be most effective, says one source, if people… are discouraged from thinking critically.”.

  the quote comes from a book entitled: “media and society in the twentieth century: a historical introduction by lyn gorman, david mclean" the watchtower however, chose to leave out a portion of the quote.. the full quote is "therefore, it is likely to be most effective if people do not have access to multiple sources of information and if they are discouraged from thinking critically.. the following sentence which the watchtower also decided was best not to include states,.

  Why Finding the One True Religion is Impossible

  jws like to think they have found the one true religion.

  but like so many other religious people, it's usually the religion they were born into, the only religion they know because it's the first one they found or, at the most, one of two or three (typically the second one after they left their first / born-in faith).. the trouble is, there simply isn't enough time to explore and investigate each and everyone of the many thousands of belief systems, religions and sects around the world.. think of it this way: which is the best neighbourhood to live in where you would be most happy and most successful?

  not just in the city or even the country you are in, but the entire world.. how would you ever know?
