3Oh the Irony!
by dobby insix months ago i took a new job and have a new co-worker that i work very closely with because our duties overlap.
i have gotten to know her pretty well and although she is a very sweet person, she is extremely religious.
she is a member of a fundamentalist christian religion that has many similarities to the dubs.

Vultures are Circling
by dobby inwell in the last three weeks i have had three run-ins with local jw's.
it is interesting because when i moved to this area 2 and a half years ago i only attended a handful of meetings before becoming inactive and no one has come by to talk to us in at least two years.. the first meeting was a visit by a brother stopping at my front door out in service on a sat.

Any Advice - Afteraffects of taking the Reality Pill

it has been a tremendous help to me to read other people's experiences, to laugh, cry and just plain identify.
however, something weird is going on with me in the last six months and i am totally freaked out.

Funny Memory
by dobby inin the coffee shop this morning they were playing eddie money's two tickets to paradise.. i love this song, but haven't heard it in a while and it brought back the funniest memory.. when the song came out when i was a kid, i remember my mother laughing at it and saying, "if only eddie money knew that we really have two tickets to paradise," (namely the watchtower and awake).
hee hee.
actually it's kind of pitiful that i can't even listen to an eddie money song without some bizarre dub flashback!.

Happy to be Living Now
by dobby ini just finished watching a movie called far from heaven set in the 1950's.
i can't help but think about how the wt always taught us how terrible the world was getting with each successive generation -that the past was better then the present.
well, i for one, would much rather live in the present.. maybe there was less crime in times past, maybe people were more polite and gracious, maybe life was a little slower, less stressful.

A Reason to Return to Sunday Meetings
by dobby inmy hubby and i ran into a sister from the congregation we stopped attending a year ago.
we were trying to run into a store out of the cold, our son in tow.
that didn't stop her.

A New Blood Video ?
by dobby inmy mother in law called tonight to tell us that the society is releasing a new video about blood.
i checked the jw media sight and i see a couple of videos about blood released in 2001.. also, they seem to have won several awards for various video news releases at the world media festival?
i am totally disgusted.

Voting 101
by dobby ini have never voted, (gee i wonder why...could it have been against my religion?
), anyway i was wondering if there are any good sources for general information about voting.. the info i need is for example, how do you research the candidates and issues?
i don't even know where to begin.
