so lately i've felt so frustrated and overwhelmed that i had to tell someone how i felt.
my parents were gone so i decided to talk to my sister.
we've always been close so i thought i could trust her because we have talked about it before.
I think you need to back pedal a bit. Just tell your sister you are stressed out and was just talking things through, you didn't mean to upset her, and you hope she will understand that you aren't sure of anything right now.
You need to keep things to yourself until you are completely ready the speak your truth. You will know when the time is right. Confide in a non JW friend, or vent here on JWN.
so i was fooled by the witnesses.
what can i learn from that?

I was thinking about this today. A few years after the moon landing some peoole in the Nixon administration broke into the Watergate building in an attempt to dig up dirt on the democrats. Not only were they caught, they couldn't even hide that fact that Nixon knew what they were doing, he was forced to resign.
So we are supoosed to believe the government that couldnt carry off a simple burglary was able to plan and implement a fraud of monumental proportions that would have had to involve thousands of people, and not only were they able to carry it off, in the many years since then not one person involved ever came forward to talk about it, and furthermore, Russia, who we were in a cold war with at the time, and who would have been able to expose the fraud, said nothing either.
As I said, people will believe what they want to believe.

it's the longest lasting emotion with have.. it takes at least 90 seconds for it to run it's course once we stop.a lot can happen in 90 seconds, and some of the most horrible exchanges and actions happen right after the anger first manifests itself.. we're experiencing fantastic results by just going for a very short walk ( 90 seconds out in the yard or other room ) before continuing the conversation.. when my wife and i come back together we can smile, embrace and congratulate each other for avoiding a horrible day.. before it even becomes anger, wait 3-5 seconds before making your reply.

There is a scientific reason for this. The primitive part of our brain responds much faster han our more developed brain. This is what causes road rage, any shock or threat activates our primitive brain, and the fight or flight response. This is why people who are normally passive can do something very shocking and out of character for them. As time passes the more logical brain takes control.
Breathing is a good way to gain control. Try breathing in slowly for eight seconds, holding your breath for eight seconds, then breath out slowly for eight seconds.
i am still attending the kh, i actually recently became aware of the ttatt, what i believed came as a huge surprised for me, i wasn't raised as a jw and have been for about 15 years.
i have always been a very open minded individual all my life always seeing both sides of any situation with logic and common sense and so i believe discovering all of the doctrines i have been taught sense 16 years of age, wasn't extremely hard for me to realize in my heart it was a lie.
well it was me discovering the watchtower society being a ngo member of the un nations for 10 years, after that the snowball just got bigger for me.
Welcome, I am glad you know tatt now, so you don't have to put up with this abuse. Nothing I hear any more surprises me about the people in this religion, I have come to believe that not only are Jehovah's Witnisses not better than people from other religions, they are often a lot worse.
If the elders question you, just tell them that Jesus said you would recognize his true followers because of the love they have amongst themselves. Since you have not been shown love by them or this person you can only conclude that they are not true followers of Jesus, so you are going to treat them as being disfellowshipped by you.
Be prepared in case this crazy person continues to try to abuse you, you may have to get a restraining order.

a couple friends pointed me to some info on the sabbath and i just plain like it, being the workaholic i am it's a lifesaver for me and gives me the motivation to be more balanced about my business and work schedule.
so from there i looked into the adventists and found a hall near my place and went last week.
i honestly enjoyed myself and the meeting time is not disruptive and the people were great and pretty laid back.
My grandson is SDA (long story). There are some similarities and some differences. I think they are more mainstream, not anti education, not as strict about things. It doesn't appear to have hurt him any, he went on missions to built churches in Mexico, went to SDA school all twelve years, he turned out a good kid. He wants to be a minister, but the SDA college was way too expensive, so he joined the air force to get tuition expenses. His long term goal is to have his own non denominational church, which tells me he isn't hung up on the SDA as being the only path, which makes me happy.
hi i've been a jw my whole life and i'm 17 now.
i've never had a mine of my own and recently i started thinking more open minded and i know the being a jw isn't for me.
i feel like i've been in a bubble my whole life.
A lot depends on your circumstances. Are your parents really strict JWs? Are they loving parents, but just misguided by the religion?
Are you still in school? If you are a senior in high school, start making plans to go to college. Contact a guidance counselor and see what it will take to get an education. Most of us didn't go because of being JWs, it's something you really need to do if you want a good job.
You may have to wait until you are older before you can leave the religion. Start preparing now for when you can be your own person. Obey your parents but earn as much as you can about the religion, so that you know what to say if your parents don't understand why you do not want to be a JW. Make sure it's for the right reasons, not just that you want to do things they don't allow, but because you don't believe it. It's important to be clear on that. If you just want to party, then your parents will not be OK with that and it will make it harder.
Once you are a legal adult you can tell your parents that you are not going to be a JW. They may be upset, but there is little they can do if you are resolute. It's your life after all, they chose their religion, you didn't.
has the australian rc been given misleading assurances that jws will fully comply with laws demanding that child sex offenses be reported to the police?
it appears that way when we look at the background to these assurances.
several jws testified to the rc, that they would have reported all child molestation cases to the police had they had been required to do so by law.
They have consistently given instructions that in any such case the local elders are to call headquarters FIRST. You maythink this is so that the elders can be instructed to call local police when it is required, but in practice this does not seem to be the case. I suspect that the local elders are instructed to inform the police only when it is likely the matter will come to their attention of the anyway. Because otherwise, why are elders not instructed to call the authorities first, in those jurisdictions where it is required?
In any event, why aren't the authorities contacted in every case of child molestation, as that would be the right thing to do to protect the congregation and the public?

so i ran into this brother whom ive known for a while and the conversation led into me being invited to come back to the kingdom hall.
we talked for about an hour during which time i explained to him 607 being the wrong date and a lot of other stuff including the child abuse cases in australia.
but what i wanted to relate was the last few minutes of our conversation.
They are choosing a comforting lie over the truth. The Watchtower has conditioned them to think that way so it's not surprising.
"Where shall we go?" How about wherever you want?
"It's chaos out there in the wicked world." Yes, there are problems in the world, why not work to fix those problems?
"The Watchtower takes care of us and makes us feel safe." Right, except that its an illusion and that feeling of safety comes at the cost of your freedom and integrity.
What can you do when people display that level of stupidity? It's their life.
