Mel Gibson is out of control
by SirNose586 in.
this is some hilarious tomfoolery.
his charles manson-esque beard doesn't seem to help, either.. mel may be a powerful guy, but something tells me there'll be a price to pay for his anti-semitic remarks, even if they were made in a sauced-up state.

Hey......It's a start. They come across as being innocent people spreading news about the bible. I can see her viewpoint, but tell her to ask a witness if one of their children was about to die on the operating table and in order to save the child's life they would have to accept blood and would they?!?!?!?!? Bet she would whistle a different tune after they responded.

I loved the fact that my family loved me while I was a JW. That was all really.
Ah HECK......I always enjoyed singing all the corny songs and maybe changing a lyric or two to make my wife laugh. God that was bad!!!
oO(If you....keep your eyes......on the prize..........IN MY PANTS)......That one always made her laugh!

what would your reaction be?
personally i'd feel sick (if my perfect body would allow that lol) as eternity stuck with them, would be worse than hell.

September KM - 70 alterations in Revelation Climax Book
by dozy ini can't find a thread on this subject yet - if there is one , please delete this one.. the september kingdom ministry has a 4 page insert detailing the 70 alterations in the revelation climax book which is due to be studied at the book study shortly.
i'll provide scans if anyone is interested.. i will leave it up to more experienced analysts to examine the reasons for specific changes , but just a few brief observations for now:.
p32 box - "they were completely exonerated" changed to "charges against them were dropped" - interesting change of terminology for the 1918 watchtower eight.

WOW! What a dilema! It is hard enough leaving and having to explain to the elders and then the one's you made friends with why you will not be coming back let alone having several JW's work for you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time.

Scholar,
No offense, but you remind me of several elders that carry that "high and mighty" attitude in the congregation and constantly poke at people's ability to reason on things and try to shame everyone in to worshiping Jehovah. I know there are people here that probably give you grief and make you angry, but you are not displaying the humble personality that Christ took while he was here on earth. You made a statement about someone that comes into the truth and accepts it as the truth and if they leave they are displaying a fool's thinking. What the JW's teach as a whole is refreshing and pure until you peel back the many layers of the society and find out it is actually a business that operates as a religion on the side. It takes years to realize. A fool is someone who stays in a religion that keeps putting out false prophicies and dates and blames it on the light getting BRIGHTER. By now that light should be as bright as the sun, but they continue to make even more false prophicies. You really need to read Franz book about how things are really done on a voting majority on serious issues rather than using the scriptures to make decisions. It's sad and you buy into it and defend it. I'll pray for you.

Is this life all there is? NO! Why do I know that? Because I do believe in the bible. Even though I am deprograming myself right now from what was taught to me for 35 years I know the bible well enough to know that God has something in store for us after our life on earth is done. I'm excited about it, but I'm not rushing to die anytime soon though !!! Keep the faith (that the bible teaches) and you will be good!
Best wishes!

Has being a Jehova's witness totally shattered your faith?
by Silvia Plath injust because the watchtower society is wrong doesn't mean that there is no god, nor does it mean there is a god.
it would interesting to now how former members have adjusted thier cosmology, or whether they are now atheists and why.
i personally see religion as a more personal matter, rather than belonging to an organization.

My wife and I just left recently so we are not in a rush to jump back into another religion. Has it shattered my faith? No. No way at all. It has made me a stronger person and taught me a lot of things in life and for that I am thankful. My wife and I have decided to keep our faith and studies on a personal level at home for a while. Once we let some time pass we may entertain and look at some other religions, but for now. The wife, me, the children, and GOD. After being in it for almost 35 years I should have my faith shattered, but when I look at my wife, my children, and the good things in this world I know there is a loving God.
