I think my last conversation on here was with AuldSoul 6 years ago... and it was on this thread. It's amazing how time flies.

Nope, no point in bumping this thread other than simply remembering the utter depressed feeling I had after reading up on a lot of AuldSoul's posts (along with others). My wife and I, the kids, and just the whole crew dont go to meetings any longer as we simply faded away. Maybe others have a stronger mental attitude towards hearing what they've always been told not to listen to, but years ago (around the time of this thread), it just plain gutted me out. I really cannot explain he feeling I had years after that, and still do. Just utter sadness...

I wish everyone well, JW's or not and I surely hope that anyone who's on here trying to prove JW's wrong (with that as their main mission) remember that we are all still humans whether we choose to follow or not. State your case, make it factual, but dont make enemies.

I wonder where that AuldSoul is up to nowadays... :D

why does daniel specifically use the word 'times' rather than years?

Which gives you more people, obviously the second, but the per capita remains the same. As populations grow, obviously if a disaster hit, the concentration of people would cause a large number of casualties. You've proved nothing unless you can show more occurances of the same thing.

I would assume that the destructiveness of a natural disaster, namely earthquakes, is ultimately measured in casualties. Verse 6 "You will hear..." Verse 7 "There will be famines and earthquakes in various places". So maybe it simply means that you will hear of these things more frequently.

everyone has a song that reminds them of a particular moment in their lives, happy or sad or sometimes indifferent.

its only that when you hear that song it takes you back even catching you off guard and suddenly your back in high school or remembering someone you loved and lost.

Herb Alpert - This Guys in Love With You...

I remember it from my childhood, my Dad would play it all the time, along with Herb Alpert's other albums. The song itself doesn't have any relation to any one of us leaving the truth, and doesn't have any real meaning other than when I think of my Dad, I think of this song, his love for my mom... now he as well as just about the rest of my family have left.

Guess i'm next. We'll see what song fits that occasion.

Regarding this topic, i've been reading through a lot of books, Organzied to do Jehovah Will, ... to Accomplish our Ministry, Reasoning from the Scriptures, What does the Bible Really Teach, United in Worship, Insight Books, etc. and of course the Bible; KJ and NWT. Even though I feel as though I found some interesting things, I admit that I will not be able to defend this topic regarding my beliefs. I know you will shread it to pieces, for your knowledge apparently seems unlimited.

Of course, the 607 topic is wasting away all of my spare time... the little of it that I have.

My DF'd brother will never go back!

some years ago my brother was disfellowshipped.

not for apostasy, but for more mundane reasons.

he has not had the internet, he has not studied the bible much since being disfellowshipped, he has been feeling guilty and considering returning for the last six months.. i had no way of contacting him, having lost touch in the midst of his many moves.

Just stumbled across this posting, and its good to hear that your relationship with your brother has strengthened. My situtation is a bit opposite of yours, but its commendable that you are looking out for whats best for your brother. Also a bit nice to see a change in your writing style... you seem relaxed and at ease.
