Sorry guys, but I am unable to respond for the day. You all are great, and I'm fortunate for your responses. I went outside late last night when everyone was in bed, looked up to the stars, pondered and prayed sincerely to Jehovah for help as suggested. I think it may have been answered... Hummingbird... I've sent you a personal mail (you can see your inbox in top left hand corner).

A bit reluctant
by saki2fifty ini'm a bit reluctant in writing this post, for i dont feel i should be here.
even a bit nervous... .
i've never officially dedicated myself to jehovah, but i was brought up in the truth, very strong, and at times when getting older, there were lulls in my attendance... yet to this day i still attend.

As I read your post it became obvious that you are the problem. Wherever you go the elders commit fornication and adultry. "Do you have them over to watch "R" rated movies you bad boy you?"
A little off topic here, but for me, its a bit mind boggling to know that someone who had at one time dedicated their lives to Jehovahs organization, nurtured the congregation as Elders, Ministerial Servents, PO's, etc.... and then to see them here speaking against the JW's, the same people that helped the congregations grow and flourish. I'm sorry, but its just hard for me to realize this for the fact that they were at one time people that the congregation looked up to.
You have your reasons, and I respect that.

It can only appeal to the retarded or the brainwashed. I'm not sure which I used to be, lol
Ha!No one should ever accept circular reasoning.
I dont know. The Watchtower and other publications are riddled with quotes from the bible (and other sources), of which they rely soley on their answers. Seems like after every sentence, there is a reference to the Bible. However some of the older publications dont reveal their sources quite as much.
The WTS being the faithful and discreet slave may sound ridiculous to some, but it fits together perfectly for me... and is scripturally supported.
I know, I know, I need to do my research.

I'd say its been a year since certain things were revealed to me by my dad. We were all strong at once, but he just went Lutheran for the reasons above. Even during that year, I didn't want to hear it. Then just recently a friend decided to leave the org. due to being disfellowshipped for about a year (relatively recent i guess), and I learned of the new disfellowshipping phrase. So I finally googled it a few nights ago, and this site popped up. The initial shock was outright horrible.
So... I guess I'll see your points in more light as I research.... whether I agree or not.. ha!

My kids love going, enjoy it tremendously and show pure love... a pure and true love of Jehovah himself
The beauty and innocence of childhood. That is truely unconditional and pure love. I also have three children. The love that they have taught me is nothing short of miraculous. Being a parent is a tremendous blessing. It's great to hear how much you and your children enjoy the time you spend together. My kids are everything, and I want a sure foundation for them. They are still kids, innocent, and only want whats best and of course, the right path.
I respect you...

You assume wrong. Making assumptions is such a bad habit. Take our advice, do your research.
Right, and advise well taken. I based the above on doing just a little research on this board, and 2 things were seen. One, the phrase "I think" is used quite extensively and next, a lot of "facts" were not backed up by anything more that comments on a thread... so thats how I concluded it. Of course, a lot were well documented and backed from what appeared to be ligitimate.
But yes, research is key... so agreed.

Right, and thats why I'm here. But until I have proved it myself, have seen the actual facts for myself, I cannot accept it.
But I'm researching. I have my insight books next to me as I write this, bible, keyboard/internet, etc. The above comment that you quoted from me was based on a thread on this board... boths sides tried to prove their point, and it appeared as though your side had the last word. And I would assume that a lot of people on this board left due to this board alone "proving" the lies of the WTS... which one cannot take as proof.
I guess we'll see.
Respectfully,

I agree that to characterize 6 million individuals in a negative light due to the actions of a few is irrational.
And I thought I was going to be slammed... well put comment.
But yes, "outoftheorg", agreed. When one puts themselves above others, claims to be the happiest, moral, etc. people out there, it is a bit disgusting. But are they really doing that? Does the WTS publicy state those claims, do they state they are these things? No. The organization (as well as other orgs) has to set guildlines regarding morality for their followers and those followers try to adhere to the best of their ability. Unfortuneately in the minds of some, the JW followers adhere to those guildlines with utmost devotion... which in return gives the false image of this filth thats being talked about when something wrong happens.
... but am rather impressed with the strong community here.

What does a JW look like?

I still side with the JW's, but... as i've told my wife many, many times... witnesses DO have a certain look to them, at times even irritating, and the above pics do a good job at portraying it.
Still love em though...
