the witnesses are always trying to scare the faithful by telling them that if they don't adhere to the teachings and lifestyle of the brotherhood-----that bad things are going to happen to them.

for example, they might tell you of brother regret who left the "truth", had "fun" in the "world" and then got aids.

now he's back in the "truth" but he only has months to live................can you think of other examples of how the witnesses try to spook the rank and file?

Superman 4 was "The quest for peace" I remember being told not to watch it because only Jah could bring real peace.

It sucked anyway.

Your first post was like reading my memories out loud.

I just told people I was allergic to hotdogs and lived off the potato chips and pop.

I just coughed up a lung when I read that. Not laughing at you, but laughing at myself because it made me remember the silly things we'd say to divert attention. Anything to avoid that conversation! I'd just as soon starve than have to explain that.

My opinion is it sucked.

I used to pray to JEHOVAH to get me out of there. He never answered. Whatever happens to me later--I don't care. ANYTHING to get out of going to school tomorrow and sit in the back of the class and do something constructive. I would even very carefully try to ask SATAN to get me out. I guess he wasn't there either.

I'm glad this thread started because earlier today I was told of a comment from a current JW on birthdays. This person was backed into a corner and finally said "What's the big deal? O.K. so if they are wrong about birthdays, who cares? It's not that important."

That hurts-----All the times I was subject to that look of confusion and pity, "What's the big deal?"

Telling a classmate, at 5 years old, that I can't celebrate birthdays because John the Baptizer had his head chopped off, "What's the big deal?"

That really hurts

What Dub Habits have you kept?(On accident or on Purpose?)

i think that when you are in a cult like the dubs, things stick with you whether you want them to or not.

i still pray before meals and bedtime...anybody else?

I still can't say "God bless you" when someone sneezes. Even though I know the silly reasoning behind not being allowed to.

with all the "buzz" around the up-comming october anouncment, i have a question.

i have thought about this for a long time, is it possable that they would tell all those married to non-witnesses to divorce their mates?

it could be for the reason of "unevenly yoked", and/or keeping spritually clean.

I know this is silly but how much would you give to see that announced at the district convention?

Say the final speaker was tied and gagged and a replacement went out there for him.

"Brothers and sisters the governing body has a shocking revelation. GODZILLA IS COMING! We have seen it in the scriptures! The holy spirit has made this new light clear to us. New Blood Info

not sure if this has been posted before but:.

american medical association researchers have made a remarkable discovery.

it seems that some patients needing blood transfusions may benefit from receiving chicken blood rather than human blood.
