We had our book study on Tuesday nights and the Ministry School on Thursday nights. Both of those days were very depressing and gloomy. It always seemed to be cloudy those days and even now, (I've been gone for 12 years) Tue. and Thur. will still feel like that sometimes.

Did the JW life, cause anxiety?
by JH inoften i heard the elders say, "when a person is physically sick, they should go see a doctor, and in the same way, when you're spiritually sick you should go see the elders".
so, they compare themselves to doctors.... so, for the sake of it, let's say a jw went to see a doctor and complained about anxiety due to jw meetings and their way of life, and being stressed because the watchtower asks too much.. now lets say the doctor would say, the cause of your problems is your religion, stop going and you'll feel better !
so, you go tell the elders that the root of your anxiety is the meetings and field service and all the stress related to the jw religion.

I chose "Moneyshine" because "Monkeyshines" was a movie that I was always intrigued by when I was a kid but never was allowed to watch because it was, you guessed it, "demonistic". Something about the toy monkey banging the cymbals always captured my imagination.
Also, I was always one to play jokes on people and I was always foolin' around growing up so the definition fits well...

African JWs Can Keep "Messianic" Attire Because It's There Culture!
by minimus inmy mom went to the sunday meeting and a missionary that was formerly in the congregation was showing (boring) slides about the "work" in africa.
when he showed some pictures of some witnesses, they were dressed in what he called "messianic attire".
he told the audience that it was no big deal that they were being allowed to continue this style of dress by the society since it was merely seen as "cultural".

What would it be like without the help? All I need is 1 second of "I am here". That's it! End the pain, for everyone. We'd all know what to do and could now do it. It would at least take the edge off of our suffering.
