***** Before the JW's ever showed up, Christianity was already known globally. How did that happen unless PEOPLE taught and shared it with others. No JW's pushing Watchtowers and Awakes needed.
I am often amazed at just how arrogant the JW belief system is. They alone have the truth. All other Religions and people within those religions are doomed unless they become JW's. God uses the WT Society to dispense food at the proper time etc...
Only THIS is what they provided throughout their entire existence, proving GOD was never behind any of it.

This is my entire life, my entire being, everything that I have ever known, just about my every waking breath and thought, my entire world since the very day that I was borne..."

From Raymond Franz, who was on the Governing Body for nine years. He writes without sarcasm or bitterness. Almost apologetically. His insight and experience will remove any doubts you might have. I have never seen anything as powerful as his two books. Anywhere.
Many here are definitely with you and fully understand how you feel right now. Many of us cried when we learned the truth as it truly is.
You have found a great amount of empathy by being on this site.
And never forget, there can also be a new-found excitement for your life with what you have come to learn. Just think about the possibilities...
Peace to you and yours Cognac,

Hello Cognac!
Below is a reply I gave last month on another website. The situation though is very similar to your own today. Blood was the main issue for me as well. I was a very active and caring elder, my daughter a Regular Pioneer, wife very active etc etc.

Hope you find what you are searching for Cognac. You can still worship God without the WT Society pulling all the strings. I can assure you of this.
All the best,
Vinny
(PS- The Matt 24:14 issue is simple. Before the JW's ever EXISTED, Christianity was already GLOBAL. Also, which "Kingdom" do the JW's preach? You mean the one they said was established in 1879? Or the one that was to bring an end to the world in 1914, then 1915, 1925, 1975, before the generation born in 1914 dies off, before the turn of the century etc etc. You mean THAT Kingdom preached by the JW's??)
: )
(Incidentally he also disagrees with the JW blood policy).
So this is how I rached the decision that I did. It was not easy. It is not for everybody. But in my own case, I believe it was the right thing to do.
I lost business partners, we lost business employees, I have been wrongly labeled and am shunned by all JW's today. But I am also free from this organization and these teachings that I no longer support.
Most JW's have no idea about all the false predictions, doctrinal flip-flops, medical disasters and other embarrassing mistakes throughout their entire existence.
So when you (or any JW) says, that it takes nerve for me to be offended because of what's happened to me, since I chose my course, you are only lying to yourselves.
NOBODY CHOOSES THIS!!!
But because very few ever realize these consequences, or know about all the past WTS mistakes, until (((AFTER))) they become JW's, the consequences of being labeled, shunned and other significant losses become the reality by default, through no choice of their own. -

Self Deceit and Faith.
by hillary_step inthis thread is inspired by a comment made on another thread, but i thought it would make an interesting discussion.. self deceit is described as a "misconception that is favorable to the person who holds it".
my premise is that faith is a form of self-deceit - lying to oneself.. so, i would ask of the "faithful" the following questions and would request that they be read carefully to ensure no that there is no misunderstanding of purpose.. 1) in what way is faith not self-deception?.
2) is a person who has faith in a god that you do not believe in, say for example siva, practicing a form of self-deception?.

Burn says:..."Hey BA. I don't agree with HS either, but lets not call him a twit mmmkay? Its not nice
****** Hello Burn. How about just a FEW fine quotes from Hilary, on this thread alone:
Special quotes from Hilary headed for the Library of Congress:
"Vinny, Come now, don't act the dumbass, surely you can do better than this?"
and
"I think the diffence between you and I is that I know what words mean and you do not."
and...
"I am calling you a liar and ask for you to present what evidence you have for your bolded statement."
and...
"Please do not clutter this thread with your childish nonsense"
and...
"Another dolt who thinks he can read personalities from discussion Boards, Lord save us."
and...
"The loonie fundies, who have moved a bare squeak from WTS thinking and who regularly fill the Board with their narrow-minded drivel, make more atheists than a North Korean internment camp."
and..
"Streuth but you are thick-headed!"
and...
...What a buf(f)oon.
and...
"You may be uninformed about the process of evolution, but you are certainly not stupid. BA is both."
***** Considering the facts presented above, from my good friend Hilary, I think "TWIT" is rather tame.
What you say, Burn?
Have you crossed over yet?
heh...

New Yearbook stats for 2007 now out!
by Dogpatch inthe report is out!.

cooking the books with 3% increase??.

The LDS had growth of over (((5 PERCENT))) for many years then dipping to just under 3 percent per year after 2000.
And then I am sure they've been jumping all over the Iraq war, Iran nukes, numerous earthquakes, housing market collapse, school shootings, suicide bombers bandwagon in full force, once again instilling fear to an excess, much like was done around 1975.
I am not surprised at all considering how much the panic button has been pushed that there has been a boost in growth.
Now, take away kids of JW's hurrying up to get baptized, and how much increase do you think there is then?
Take away third world countries, with no internet to counter the JW indoctrination program, and how much increase do you think there is then?
Considering how much effort the JW's put into the door to door evangelizing work, and how much fear is used in the process, how their own children are often just stuck with and pressured into becoming JW's today, then three percent growth for does not impress me at all.
The year before was 1.6. The year before that was just 1.3, which barely keeps up with the worlds population growth rate of 1.2 percent. -
