This happens more than people realize, sorry to say. And is why I left the JW's just over two years ago.
Here is a list of reasons why this is the sorriest policy on record anywhere by any faith.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/16/150613/1.ashx
But yet the poor little JW''s are willing to to sacrifice all their loved ones for this bogus policy anyway.
Just like the above shows.
Have a good one,

JW Refuses to Let Husband have Life-saving Transfusion
by fjtoth injehovahs witness refuses to let husband have life-saving blood transfusionby lucy cockcroft last updated: 6:42 am bst 06/06/2008 the wife of a man who is critically ill in hospital has refused to let doctors give him a life-saving blood transfusion because he is a jehovahs witness.john edwards, 57, suffered severe injuries when a motorist suspected of drink-driving knocked him over and medics have warned he could only have days to live if he does not have the transfusion.. but his wife sheila said he has signed a form banning any blood transfusions in the event of an accident or illness, because their religion forbids it.. it is believed she is rejecting repeated pleas from doctors hoping to change her mind.. the couple's sons, jonathan, 36 and tom, 29, do not share their beliefs and it was unclear last night whether they supported their mother's decision.. a family source said: "sheila is adamant that john must not have blood.
she says giving him a transfusion would be like assaulting him, and he wouldn't want to live knowing he had disobeyed his god.. "she is in a terrible state, constantly in tears at his bedside, but won't give in to requests from anyone.
her sons are both with her but her position hasnt budged.".

Why I will NEVER be an elder again
by stillajwexelder inso the po confirmed what many on this board already know.
at latest round of co to elders meeting, the co quoted from the society outline.
any elder or ms who encourages college for his kids or others or who allows his children to go to college will no longer qualify.. he then asked if i was going to take the cos encouragement and reach out again to be an elder and get my hours on the ministry up.. i replied "i will never be an elder again - i strongly approve of further education and college and have been through college myself.
-
Vinny
Original Post Said:..."Any elder or MS who encourages college for his kids or others ((((or who allows his children to go to college)))) will no longer qualify."
***** Sorry, but I am not buying it. I think you are full of bologna.
Your opening post said:.. "At latest round of CO to Elders meeting, the CO quoted from the Society outline."
But then, many comments later ON PAGE FOUR, you backtrack and say,..."Dont forget - I am not an elder. I was not at the Friday evening meeting with the CO and elders , (((I was merely repeating what the PO said to me on a shepherding call to me"))).
Big difference, don't you think?
I have known in the past, and know of many JW children today that went to/go to college and absolutely nothing happened to their elder father. In fact some college for training is even even considered a commendable thing. I've seen this in print. I was an elder when my son went to a community college for automotive training. Nothing even remotely came up due to this. Nor would it come up today.
The JW's do discourage education most of the time, especially on-campus university educations, and have done so for as long as I know they've existed. And the have more holes in their 100 + year historical record than SWISS CHEESE. They arrogantly and presumptuously believe that they alone are true Christians and that God has selected them exclusively. Only the facts say God has never been behind any of it.
They have the absolute worst policy today of any religion with their sorry no blood transfusions (even if death is imminent), but blood fractions are okay to use.... though you cannot donate any blood, or use your own blood... but can use hemopure (cows blood).... pathetic policy.
And I can go on for pages of other WT Society embarrassments.
But if you want to start a post stating that, "ANY ELDER OR MS WHO ENCOURAGES COLLEGE FOR HIS KIDS (((OR WHO ALLOWS HIS CHILDREN TO GO TO COLLEGE WILL NO LONGER QUALIFY))))", then you'd better show us the money, IN PRINT.
Because up to now there is NO BEEF AT ALL. Just a few measly opinions lacking any substance.
I can guaranty you that an elder's kids going to some kind of college will not disqualify them as servants in the congo.
You should think more before posting this kind of nonsense. And state up front just how it was presented, rather than on page four.
Your initial post was misleading.
You should know better.
Have a good one,

You Might be a JWD Addict if...
by White Dove inif jwd takes a weekend off and you can't find anything else interesting on the internet, you might be a jwd addict.
-
Vinny
Didn't even realize it was down for days. Seriously.
But for those that were significantly affected because JWD was down a couple days, I'd suggest using it as an opportunity to find other things to do with your life. Balance is good. It is okay to move on to better things if at all possible.
It's Springtime in most places, so nicer weather should offer additional opportunities of things to do to help move forward and rely less on the JWD.
There is much value to be found here with others that have gone through what we all have gone through. I understand this.
But there is also even greater value, IMO, to use the leaving of Jehovah's Witnesses as an opportunity to begin new chapters with our lives, with new goals, new activities, new people etc.
I am not trying to hurt any feelings are step on toes. I am in your shoes too. Am currently shunned, labeled, lost step son/grand kid and many others for doing absolutely nothing wrong.
But have found the extra effort to walk away from too much JW this and that, and to get on with living an adventurous life, with many new activities and new people to be rewarding and satisfying too.
There are many things to do and much to look forward to without the JW's. I hope everybody finds life outside of the JW's to be a BETTER LIFE OVERALL, as many today already have, myself included.
Spending too much time in front of a computer screen, communicating with people we will likely never meet or get to really know; talking about JW's for so much of our time, day in and day out, for myself and many, may not be that better life overall.
There is value in realizing we are not alone in our mistreatment by WT World and in reading stories almost identical to our own from people here on the JWD. But too much involvement in reading and discussing unfair, unjust treatment and similar things by others in our shoes, again and again, can lead to bitterness, negativity, resentment, pessimism, hate and more from all that I have seen and experienced.
Can possibly cause us to miss out on other positive, healthy and happy endeavors/activities/relationships. To lose sleep at times thinking about all the injustices againh and again because of JW beliefs and policies... and can even have a neg effect on our personalities overall.
I would just like to suggest really trying to find a good balance in the big picture overall. There are so many things out there to do and so many people out there to meet. The JW religion has taken many things away from most all of us as it is.
But with a little effort and resiliency, IMHO, we can all move on to even better things.
Just my sincere 2 cents.
All the Best,

Adultery of a JW
by hurt by JW ini have a question for jw's.
i have a problem with a jw .
its been going on for a year now.
-
Vinny
I would suggest calling the local Kingdom Hall, and then request to speak to the Presiding Overseer.
Tell him you would like to arrange a meeting between you and your husband, with a few elders from her congregation about this incident involving whatever the person's name is.
With two witnesses to back up this claim, even if she denies it, the elders can then take action against this scumbag.
If your husband refuses to get involved, then you will want to find some kind of corroborating evidence to support your claims. Phone bills, voice messages written statement by husband etc.
Without any additional evidence, and with only your word against her word, they will not take action unless she has a prior history of such behavior and would likely leave it in Jehovah's hands.
But with more than one witness, you can almost guaranty she will face severe consequences.
And in JW land she could be cut off by all including friends and family until fully repentant and having to wait a fairly long time.
Hope it works out.

I would normally tend to agree with V, and almost said the same myself about your e-mail yesterday.
BUT.... sometimes you get just ONE REAL SHOT AT IT with JW's. And that is overall why I think you handled it the best way possible as posted.
Agree, disagree, acknowledge or deny, at least it has been TOLD.
So what happened to Reniaa? All that work and no reply at all?
No answers to my questions. No dealing with all those problematic facts about WT world.
Just doing her same old song and dance ON NEW THREADS NOW...
Am disappointed Reniaa.
Reniaa...... OH RENIAA.... where art thou?
You have some questions to answer and issues to deal with over here still.
No more stalling Reniaa.
No more running Reniaa.
Let's face the music together Reniaa.
The JW's are not God's "chosen" anything.

Now that I have finally read the e-mail to your wife, I think it is fine. Plus, many of the things I have discussed with Reniaa would very easily apply to her, should you see something worth including. So, I don't feel quite as bad about jumping in on your thread now...

If Reniaa wants to use another thread, I'd be happy to move on over. Sorry about the hijack seeker. Life is like that...
("as the voice of God", how bout that!)
Did God say NO Vaccinations for JW's?
And then CHANGE HIS MIND and say vaccinations are now okay to have?
Did God say NO ORGAN TRANSPLANTS FOR JW'S?
And then CHANGE HIS MIND and say organ transplants are now okay to have?
Your not being interested in JW's past record is like saying you don't want to know about a new boyfriend's past. And why he was married three times even though all three woman died young. Such a spirit is foolish.
But I believe you are smarter than that. The real reason I believe you are not interested in the WT Society's PAST is because it destroys the house of cards fallacy and belief that God has chosen them.
A mature Christian must be in unity and full harmony with fellow believers as far as faith and knowledge are concerned. He does not advocate or insist on personal opinions or harbor private ideas when it comes to Bible understanding. Rather, he has complete confidence in the truth as it is revealed by Jehovah God through his Son, Jesus Christ, and ‘the faithful and discreet slave."
To be disfellowshipped, an apostate does not have to be a promoter of apostate views....If a baptized Christian abandons the teachings of Jehovah, as presented by the faithful and discreet slave, and persists in believing other doctrine despite Scriptural reproof, then he is apostasizing. Extended, kindly efforts should be put forth to readjust his thinking. However, if, after such extended efforts have been put forth to readjust his thinking, he continues to believe the apostate ideas and rejects what he has been provided through the 'slave class', then appropriate judicial action should be taken."
(You can see a copy of the actual letter in Ray Franz 'Crisis of Conscience', page 341.)
"Persons who make themselves “not of our sort” by deliberately rejecting
the faith and beliefs of Jehovah’s Witnesses should appropriately be viewed and treated as are ((((those who have been disfellowshiped for wrongdoing))))."
Most will never know about these many things. And that is WRONG.
This is what they say and teach.
They cannot get it both ways Reniaa. Either they are providing food from God and do deserve such faithful obedience or they are not and cannot demand such obedience.
Is is name pronounced Jehovah or Yahweh or something different? We can't be certain because there are no vowels.
Perhaps it was pronounced as Jehovah, but there is no way to tell for sure. This is one reason why many do not elect to use a name that COULD BE WRONG. Especially when that possibly wrong pronunciation is addressing the Grand Creator Himself.
Does that mean then, that because one chooses not to guess at it, and instead uses other titles like Father, Lord, Sovereign of the Universe or others (AS JESUS HIMSELF CLEARLY USED), that they are automatically wrong, lacking in spirituality, or their prayers are not being heard by God at all? Because of not being SURE about the exact name pronunciation, can it be deemed as illogical then that some choose not to use the name today when addressing God himself?
I personally have no problem using that name nor with others using it. I have heard it and used it many times and still use it at times.
Where we may DISAGREE however, is that I cannot see the see objection to other educated ones choosing NOT to use it for the very simple reason that "we cannot be certain". I would personally hold back from judging such ones adversely or place any negative labels on their relationship with God. (Not saying that you have done this by the way...
Jesus' name is different. They DID have vowels in Greek. The pronunciation is known. It's simply which language do you speak, in that decides exactly how that name is used. With Jehovah, nobody knows for certain. This is one reasonable reason, in my opinion that some choose not to use it, or instead replace it with a very respectful and appropriate title. I can understand and respect why some would feel this way.
Additionally, there are 5000 different copies of the New Testament going as back as far as 200 AD. Guess how many of those 5000 older manuscripts have the Tetragrammaton in their copies? ZERO. Not one single time. Even though many of these very same copyists did use the tetragrammaton in the Hebrew writings where it was used.
So, I would not put TOO MUCH emphasis on the JW's using the divine name. Especially when they have 100-plus years of mistakes, false predictions, medical disasters, wacky science and more.
Trinitarians believe there is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
JW's believe there is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Trinitarians and JW's simply disagree with just what exact role each plays.
Is the Holy Spirit an "impersonal" active force, or instead a "personal" active force? I really do not care which it is to be honest. If it is with you and helps you then that sounds good enough for me. There is an abundance of scriptural support for the holy spirit being a personal active force too.
Is Jesus equal to the Father, or is Jesus subject to the Father? I have my opinion. It would be more in harmony with your opinion Reniaa. Could I be wrong? Yes, it's always possible. And I will continue to examine this issue.
But does it destroy one's worship of God, to you Reniaa, if a worshiper believes Jesus is equal to God as well.
After all, Jesus is called Eternal Father, Mighty God, was prayed to and more. TOO MUCH IS PUT ON TRINITY IMO.
If you think that this one issue alone gives the WT Society a free pass on all these other problematic things, you are very mistaken. The blood issue is one that I have dissected inside and out. My goal was always to get to the truth about it. I never felt quite right about how it was applied to blood transfusions. EVER.
But I just went along with the Society anyway. I was younger then; more naive than now. But when I learned how the Society had made so many mistakes, throughout its entire history, it instantly raised red flags on that one issue of blood. They were wrong before and cold be wrong again now, was my line of thought.
Well, after an exhaustive examination, that covered every WT CD article written, as well as medical journals and other religious opinions all over, I came to the absolute, 100 percent conclusion that the WT Policy on blood was WRONG. As wrong on blood as they were before on Vaccinations, Organ Transplants, Alternative Service, End of the World Predictions and a host of other issues.
This Blood stand by the Society is CURRENT by the way. The WT is wrong on blood Renia, AS YOU SEEM TO AGREE.
Come on, answer up!
That one policy alone destroys the "One True Faith" status. People die for that policy, right now, today Reniaa.
And we still have literally hundreds, thousands actually of other problems to contend with in addition to Blood.
Now, you can stick to the Trinity if you wish. But just be clear, you are not dealing with the real problems here.
It's like being sold a new car by a salesman Reniaa:
"Just look at how nice the engine sounds... and how pretty the paint is"......

reniaa said:..."Vinny you always have kind words for me and I do appreciate your points I can answer you in a nutshell by carrying on your example, if Jws are used car salesmen then the world is full of them and not just the religious organisations."
**** Thanks for the compliments. Btw, I never said JW's are used car salesmen (though some sure are like them : )), I said you need to examine any religion the same way you would examine a used car. Thoroughly and completely; and not taking just the used car salesman's word. Get outside opinions (as you are doing). But also, carefully look at the problems as well as the positives. But be sure to evaluate the entire organization carefully.
Reniaa said:.."You say they have the worsed history of any christian organisation in the last 100 years but if you say it is because of change then WHY is that a bad thing when you have on one side churches that have been teaching the same wrong rhetoric for hundreds of years without change?"
Here, read this story for example:
http://www.ajwrb.org/experiences/stories.shtml#kidney
Additionally, the WT Society has claimed special relationship with Jehovah. If Jesus chose WT upon inspection, and if WT says that they provide food from God, are His appointed channel today, then the facts, the doctrines, the policies and writings would support such lofty claims.
"Is not the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society the one and only channel which the Lord has used in dispensing his truth continually since the beginning of the harvest period?" {WT Apr 1 1919 6414}
(A PERSONAL FAV BELOW)
1942 "The Watchtower does not consist of men's opinions" {WT Jan 1 1942 5}
(you have to love that one)....
("as the voice of God", how bout that!)
I am not making this stuff up.
(The really short version):
1927 "Spaniards .. and other backward races [came to settle in America under the influence of Rome]" {GA Nov 30 1927 141}
1929 "Thinking people would rather have smallpox than vaccination, because the latter sows the seed of syphilis, cancers, escema, erysipelas, scrofula, consumption, even leprosy and many other loathsome affections. Hence the practice of vaccination is a crime, an outrage and a delusion." {GA May 1 1929 502}
1921 "The size of the nose, as also the size of the eyes, is not without significance. The small-nosed man cannot have a judicial mind, whatever his other excellencies may be. And a man whose nose upturns can no more be expected to administer justice than a pug dog can be expected to act as a shepherd." {GA Jan 19 1921 224}
1952 "Really, our colored brothers have a great cause for rejoicing. Their race is meek and teachable, and from it comes a high percentage of the theocratic increase." {WT Feb 1 1952 95}
1953 "Vaccinations are no longer considered feeding on blood and no longer considered related to sex relations." {MSAT 48}
1961 "The blood in any person is in reality the person himself.. poisons due to personal living, eating and drinking habits .. The poisons that produce the impulse to commit suicide, murder, or steal are in the blood. Moral insanity, sexual perversions, repression, inferiority complexes, petty crimes - these often follow in the wake of blood transfusion." {WT Sep 1 1961 564}
1975 "WHY ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO 1975? .. What about all this talk concerning the year 1975? Lively discussions, some based on speculation, have burst into flame during recent months among serious students of the Bible. Their interest has been kindled by the belief that 1975 will mark the end of 6,000 years of human history since Adam's creation in the fall of the year 1975, a little over seven years from now .. it will be 6,000 years since the creation of Adam." {WT Aug 15 1968 494}
1975 Reports are heard of brothers selling their homes and property and planning to finish out the rest of their days in this old system in the pioneer service. Certainly this is a fine way to spend the short time remaining before the wicked world's end. {KMIN May 1974 3}
1968 ".. Christian Witnesses of Jehovah .. consider all transplants between humans as cannibalism." {AWAK Jun 8 1968 21}
1972 "While both homosexuality and bestiality are disgusting perversions, in the case of neither one is the marriage tie broken" {WT Nov 1 1972 32}
1984 "Some of that 'generation [of 1914]' could survive until the end of the century. But there are many indications that 'the end' is much closer than that!" {WT Mar 1 1984 18-9}
1984 "Generally rapists try to get a woman in some isolated place where people are not around. At times they have a weapon and threaten to use it if the victim does not co-operate. Should a Christian quietly submit? No.. the rapist is asking a person to break God's law by committing fornication. Under such circumstances a Christian is obligated to resist. -1 Corinthians 6:18.. 'If I gave in and he raped me, I would eventually die and have no hope of a resurrection.'" {AWAK Feb 22 1984 24-7
1991 "A religion that teaches lies cannot be true." {WT Dec 1 1991 7}
1992 "Before the 1914 generation passes away, the Kingdom-preaching work will have accomplished its purpose." {WT May 1 1992 7}
So you see an honest examination of the JW past clearly shows that Jehovah was never behind such teachings. If God was not behind them then, as the facts prove conclusively, what makes you believe He is behind them now? Even you agree that blood and shunning policies (as taught and enforced today) are tough pills to swallow. And you have other disagreements as well.
And for another, it's because any thinking person can learn much from examining the history of an individual, an organization, government leader and more.
When you want to buy a house, what to the creditors do? They carefully look over your credit "HISTORY". Because they can then learn what kind of track record you have.
For me, such evaluations make sense. They are fair to do. And in the case of the WT Society such honest evaluations can reveal much that contradicts what the WT itself says about itself.
So tell us how YOU might reconcile these two opposing viewpoints then.
WT got it wrong.
WT got it wrong.
WT got it wrong.
WT is Jehovah's channel for dispensing food at this time.
WT got it wrong.
WT got it wrong
WT got it wrong.
WT CURRENTLY has it wrong.
WT CURRENTLY has it wrong.
Now, you are telling us how you believe that the JW's are perhaps the ones God is using to dispense spiritual food today.
BUT RENIAA, MOST BELIEVE YOU HAVE BEEN MISLED.
But the JW's claim to abstain from blood. Yet how then can they allow blood fractions, which comes from one thing only, BLOOD!
And why can't JW's use their own blood? Why can they use the fractions of blood donated by other people, but not their very own blood?
And if they can use fractions from the world's blood supply (often in great quantity) then why cannot they donate blood back to this same world's blood supply?
Let me ask you directly Reniaa: Would you allow either your new born baby, (which relies on you alone today), or even your own self to die, in an emergency situation, if blood could posssibly save either of your lives?
Please give me an honest, well thought out answer when you feel ready doing so.
Reniaa concludes:..."And lol I do know my thoughts would make me not exactly Good Jw material but jehovah may help me on that :)"
It's been a long day and is bedtime in Hawaii. I hope some of this helps you out.
Have a good one!

For example, If some salesman at a used car dealership was trying to sell you a very nice looking car, obviously you would be drawn to that car's positive strengths. Maybe it has a beautiful, well maintained exterior with no rust and like-new paint. Brand new tires, a great sound system, motor sounds smooth and more. You see, right away, those positive qualities would stand out to you and most anybody checking it out. As they probably should. -

Einstein on God....Rare Letter At Auction
by hillary_step inthis rare letter gives us a good insight into the 'religious' views of einstein, oft quoted by mainstream religionists in the hope that they could glean from him some allusion to his belief in a conventional 'god'.. why his views on god or even the rear end of marilyn monroe would be of much interest has always eluded me, but it is just as well that we all know that einstein did not believe in any god, at least not in the conventional sense, so that defenders of the bible and a god free of sociopathy are not tempted to haul his einsteined majesty before the court of debate again.. http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/articlenews/story/ctvnews/20080513/einstein_letter_080513/20080513?hub=scitech.

One FINAL POST on this one to clean up more of the same boring, laughable nonsense.
Poor Hilary, must like getting spanked. Cause he keeps asking for more. Ask and you shall receive...
How can you possibly quote part of what HS says and ignore the rest of his statement, and expect that any of us who can read, to take what you say with any seriousness...........is this is a trait left over from your jw experience."
Einstsin did not believe in any God at all?
Or, Einstein did not believe in any God, at least not in the "conventional" sense?
Big difference Hilary.
Folks, you just gotta love Hilary and his nonsense like this.
Poor Hilary.
So we can see right away vinny did not misquote Hilary. Them's the simple facts here. Sorry fifi but you should know this if you bothered reading it. Not a bad idea to try some time.
Well, by now anybody WITH EYES can see what Hilary meant by "it is just as well that we all know (((THAT EINSTEIN DID NOT BELIEVE IN ANY GOD)))"...
WHICH IS A LIE.
This was Hilary's "Slick Willy" move. And I busted him on it many times now. He tried to make it appear that Einstein did not believe in any God at all.
After a comma, (comma means pause) he then added the, "at least not in the conventional sense".
Hilary could have said, "but it is just as well that we all know that Einstein did not believe in the God of the bible or in the God of any specific organized religion".
But we see he did not say that. He instead said, but it is just as well that we all know that Einstein ((((did not believe in any God))))---then a pause--, "(((at least))) not in the conventional sense"
Which is dishonest and misleading the reader.
Because as "we all know" by now, Albert Einstein was NOT AN ATHEIST.
Like I saay many times....
Folks, you just gotta love Hilary.
Have a good one Hilary. No more Slick willie moves Hilary. Or you will be SPANKED again.
Over and out.
Vinny
