A new start? Watchtower renaming at HQ Columbia Heights
by Gorbatchov infriends,.
who was in any doubt that our jw believe is a marketing model, see this pictures of the still existing hq of jw at columbia heights.. earlier comments on jwn that something is going to change in the organisation, these comments are true.. in a few years we will not talk about the watchtower society, we wil talk about jw.org.
i think the current leadership will make a transfer to a new start.

i think the marketing of JW.org is very intentional. How many thousands have stumbled on JWD/JWN by trying to look up the WTBS home page! I think they want to work against that by making the addy easy, simple and unforgettable. They don't want anybody searching WBTS, OR Jehovah's Witnesses.
Old timers won't know what to think, but they don't care about what people think. They only care about the corporations's survival.
It's getting interesting to say the least.

I think it is probably intended to be a routine reminder. "We never ask for donations like the world does. But Jehovah loves you when you contribute to his organization."
Routine reminders are given in the WT and a service meeting part not an official Letter
Yeah, but a reminder from HQ is special. The message is no different.

Disneyland's: The Haunted Mansion. Is it for True Christians™ or is it full of Demonzzss and JW's should stay away?
by LoisLane looking for Superman inhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9k4wjvmhi.
bro "elder" took his family to disneyland.
the first day, he did not want them to go on this "demonic" ride.

I'm from the OC and Disneyland has been part of my whole life. I will say it wasn't until probably my 30's that I felt it was ok to go into the Haunted Mansion. Ridiculous I know...but it was how I was raised. I believe I was at Disneyland with other JW's who loved the ride when I decided to try it. Now it is absolutely part of the visit, when we can get in. It is a great ride with great imagination. And right now, Disney goes all out in clever decorations...it's great fun and just gorgeous.
As a JW, I so arrogantly thought I had "respect" for Satan's power and demonic power, I took a firm "stand" against anything remotely devilish. I have since taken that power away and so far, no repercussions...lol. It's just great fun.
Waves to (((Lois)))
Thinking about it...Wizard of Oz, Bewitched/Munsters wrong, Addams family/I Dream of Jeannie okay...all the fairy tales...the society just villlifies everything so a parent doesn't know what the heck to do...or he will displease Jah. And all the parent wants to do is the right thing for the family. It makes people out like idiots, one doing one thing, and another stumbled over it. sigh.

Quick Poll - How many are...
by mrhhome inhow many here are (a) ex-jw, (b) non-jw with jw relatives or spouses, (c) inactive jw, or (d) active jw who stay in for your own reasons?.
-
Dagney
(a) I suppose. I didn't fade, I just left one day after a meeting and never went back. Not DA'd or DF'd. Some family in, some family out. Some friends in...some left.
Still a challenge dealing with JW crap and relatives...this place provides support from people who know what we all go through.

My decision to openly greet df persons in the hall
by Daniel1555 inat the moment i am still going to all the meetings (for family reasons).. we have at the moment 1 df person who regularly comes (already df for 1.5 years).. when i opened him the door i always greeted him but in the hall i didn't as others could see it.. now i decided that my conscience can not bear this any longer.
i will greet him also in the hall or when others are around.. if any elders notice it and talk to me, i tell them my conscience does not allow to not greet that person.. did any of you do that too and have some experiences?.
-
Dagney
I always greeted df'd ones, usually told them "nice to see you" when I saw them at the meeting. Elders never said a word. I also talked at length with a well known df'd elder at his grandsons funereal. Elders never said a word.
always always follow your heart and conscience.

LOU REED - r.i.p. (a special memory)
by Unlearn ini've always loved lou's music.... hearing about his death this am makes me remember when my little family was on the run.
i was a 'visible' elder in my community, so when we got 'free' mentally, we took a choice available to us that, sadly, some don't have.
we disappeared...just relocated to another town.. listening to 'a perfect day' by lou reed reminds me of those first few months...walking through one of the big city parks on cold sundays...both of us beaten and bruised and still in shock.
