Newly released 911 photos
by purplesofa in(cnn) -- newly released photographs show what a damaged world trade center tower and its collapse looked like from a new york police department helicopter as it flew nearby on september 11, 2001, in new york.. the aerial photos were obtained by abc news after it filed a freedom of information act request last year with the national institute of standards and technology, which had collected the images for its investigation into the towers' collapse.. a couple of the images show one of the twin towers burning after a hijacked airplane had flown into it.
others show it collapsing, and the rest show the clouds of debris and dust spreading below after the towers crumbled.. each of the 12 images offers a rare look at what the devastation looked like from above.. .

Are there any ex-missionaries here??
by fulano ini have been a missionary in the dominican republic for almost 10 years and i was wondering if there were any ex-missionaries on this forum.. i am back in my country now for 3 years and totally inactive.. what i noticed in those missionary-years was the lack of spiritual interest among the missionaries.. discussions were about rooms, cars and greater responsibilities, the bad territory.
and the local c.o.s and d.os.. was this only in the dr or are there other experiences??.
ere other experiences?

I just looked at his FB page and Steve Lett via video dedicated an expansion and remodel of the Bethel home in August 2015. Business as usual I guess.

Yes that's him. They got to live in the new Bethel home. Then they went to Azua. Or maybe it's vice versa, not sure now about the timeline anymore. Very very nice guy. We had very frank, honest convos about the issues with the WT and congregations. I was pretty done after the 1995 generation change. The wife used to be a good friend of mine before marrying. We had a lot of Swedes comes over to visit in the 80's.
I think of them whenever I hear about these reductions at the branches.

What a story 3rdgen. Such is life. At least your cousins had enough independence to go their own way. Woulda shoulda coulda...lol.
I remember the name Trujillo as a kid, now that you mention it. The big talk was the countries where the JW's were banned. Big stuff...made the coming GT very real at the time...the message about governments turning on JW's. You forget about that craziness... xoxox

Right, David and his wife Christine. I think he was from Mexico or one of the latin-american countries. I believe he was a need greater and met his wife who was also. There was a group of Swedes that worked 6 mths, then went to the DR or Chile to pioneer for 6 mths that I knew for years. They came out for an international assembly a few years ago and we met for dinner.
I still wonder if you know the other couple. He's been there for maybe 30 years and he is from CA.

Eagerly anticipating the death of billions!
by stuckinarut2 insurely someone who eagerly looks forward to the death of billions of people (including babies and children) is not emotionally healthy?.
yet, that is the key belief "happily" anticipated by witnesses.... food for thought?.

I believe this is one of the greatest reasons there is such a disconnect between JW's the rest of mankind. JW's are taught to have an agenda and it's at the forefront of their mind, not human beings. I'm not sure they realize the sheer magnitude of this destruction. I can say, I half believed it and didn't think about it...until I did. And then I was appalled at my own-self, and worked hard to shed the JW apathetic numbness. -
