Some thoughts on the new midweek meeting
by Saltheart Foamfollower inthe new midweek meeting has been running for a month now.
here are my thoughts on how it is going so far:.
1) elders are looking frazzled from being on virtually every meeting and having to prepare unfamiliar formats for items.

I'm so glad you posted about this.
I just talked with my brother who told me he is the chairman, and wondered if I was aware of the new meeting arrangement. I didn't know what he meant by "chairman", and I certainly was NOT going to ask for any information. I just said I was aware and that any change that would make it easier on the brothers was good, and that with technology advancements, it makes sense to use them. Of course he said he was excited about the arrangement...but you know...whatever.
So I was wondering what other people thought about it. Good timing. Thanks for the OP.

Honestly, Did Jehovah's Witnesses Do Anything POSITIVE For You?
by minimus ini was raised as a witness and am very thankful that i am out.
having said that, i think my upbringing produced positive qualities in me.
do you believe that anything positive came from your being a witness?

Did you KNOW Ray and Cynthia or the legal copyright holder? Only a few maybe had limited contact.
by blondie ini have known all of them over the last 15 years, talked at length with them, and knew what their wishes were, the copyright holder and spouse spent even more time with them socially and helping them set up their arrangements for when ray and cynthia passed.
i don't believe that anyone else on this board or others was a confidant.
there is no need to prove it to anyone but the copyright office which is satisfied with this.

Finally posting and I'm FRUSTRATED!!!
by stephanie61092 inokay, i'm about to engage in a major word vomit.
just giving you fair warning as your time may be better spent somewhere else.. so, i'm sitting on my lunch break, bawling my eyes out, and writing on this forum to people i don't know yet probably have a great deal in common with but at the same time, used to scare the daylights out of me.
for years, i would come across this forum and 'lurk' awhile if you will, or see things on youtube.

What a great story you shared with us. Thank you and welcome.
I'm so glad you were moved to investigate and research. Typically, that is all it takes...a niggle, a question...a feeling of indignation at the terrible treatment of us and everybody. Then with the internet...you can find whatever information you need to make a choice in how you want to live your life.

"If I wasn't born a JW, I would never have become one."
by OneEyedJoe ini've seen it mentioned by a few on the forum that at some point there was a realization that had they not been born a jw, they never would've converted no matter how many times the jws tried to study with them.
this was my experience too, and i'm wondering how universal it is for those that were born-in but eventually left.
i think i started having this thought (more specifically that if i were not born a jw, i would surely have become an atheist by now) in my late teens.

100% NEVER. NEVER!
I used to pray and thank jah I was a born in because I never would have been one on my own for years. Nothing seemed right about them. BUT...my family was all in, I had a decent social life...was busy in the theo routine...so I went along with everything for all those years. 1995 generation change was the last nail.
