It's interesting if they have HQ's blessing to spread the jw.org logo.

court denies summary judgement for laurel jehovah's witnesses congregation.
a motion for summary judgement is denied in a case against the laurel congregation of jehovah's witnesses and some individuals over child abuse reporting issues.a lawyer for the congregation maintained that elders were exempted from reporting requirements under a state law because of clergy privilege and confidentiality.the case resulted from allegations that elders did not report an unlawful sexual relationship between a woman and a 14-year-old boy, both of whom were members of the jehovah's witnesses congregation.. download the court opinion here.

What confounds...well practically everybody in the world except for JW elders and the WT corporation, is that there is so little regard for the victims in these cases.
We are talking about statutory rape here in the OP...and there are now 12 pages on this thread regarding a corporation's "right" to not report a crime.
It is sad they lack such empathy and have such a disconnect to fellow humans. From the top down it is so cold...protect the corporation at all costs. And cost them...it has and it will.

Where the society blows it and will continue to blow it is everywhere I have quickly read, the clergy person is singular. It does not read, "clergymen, judicial committees, legal desk at corporate headquarters, traveling overseers, neighboring congregation elders and their friends."
There is no confidentiality with the WT as was the intention in the constitution for a penitent to have a confidential and safe environment TO GO TO. It's beautiful how this argument has failed at all levels for the Watchtower Corporation.

Any other attempts to disqualify JW existing church "confession" settings will be overturned.
I don't believe any attempt has been successful. LOL.

Thank you blondie. They are getting quite a different reputation worldwide than they tell themselves. It's great to see the curtain finally pulled to the side.
As we wised up we have observed the WT most definitely has clergy/laity. And the courts and the law of the land confirm it.

Erm...an appointed window washer janitor is not an appropriate counselor for this type of crime. See...it's a crime that needs a qualified investigation to assist the victim and protect other potential victims. Not a discussion by other window washers.
I have nothing against window washers...just making a point that they are just not educated to deal with these serious issues as many religious leaders and lawyers are.
Thankfully the courts agree. We need to get these laws passed in all states to protect the victims who are nothing in the eyes of the WBTS corporation.

The "clergy-penitent" was used out here in CA for two cases I know of. The brother that murdered his wife, Kelle Jarka, and another guy who confessed to molesting various young girls. It didn't fly in the courts here either. Specifically because it is not kept discreet between the confessor and clergyman. It's reported to HQ and is reviewed with other BOE's and traveling overseers. There is no confidentiality to warrant that exclusivity intended for the confessional.
I hope the hits just keep coming.
i watched this 10 part series the other day and i was appalled at the investigation conducted by the police , especially the way they conducted their investigation with brendan vassey , his interrogation and obvious manipulation by the police officers , i couldn`t believe he was convicted , and sentenced to a jail term.. to any intelligent person with any sense of compassion could see brendan vassey was intellectually disadvantaged , yet these police officers exploited that failing of this boy .he should never have been convicted , his case should have been thrown out of court , the fact that he has been in jail over 10 years is a gross miscarriage of justice .. the conviction of steven avery seemed to me to be a set up also from what was presented on netflix ,.
i am no fan of steven avery ,i think he is a bit of a hillbilly type , that has had no problem with cruelty to animals , which i abhor ,yet i do think he has been railroaded in this conviction ,while the real killer and rapist goes free .. what are your thoughts .
smiddy.
i was talking to a friend of mine about perfection last night.. he made a comment that there was no way to have perfection, unless you made one thing and set that as perfect.
everything after that would be a copy and otherwise would always in some way fall short of perfect, the original creation.
we were talking about art.. and then he made a comment that god did not create us perfectly.
pixel. Exactly! When I left I did elementary (I didn't have a lot of time) search on JW subjects that bugged me, "perfection" as a whip and a carrot being one of them. As I recall, aside from a subjective one off comment regarding perfection, there is no promise/provision of whatever JW "perfection" in the Bible.
It was another brick in the wall for me. Funny though as I recall, when I would bring it up...NOBODY wanted to discuss it. Perhaps a hard thing to let go of? I could never buy the concept...it just didn't work in my brain.
although tomo's human hotdogs was as low as an alleged human could verbally go, tomo's fear-mongering was not an official video.. i'm wagering that the feb 2016 video will be pulled or adjusted.. what do you think, trash?.

It's awful. I hate the way they talk down to people. It's insulting.
I love the way they speak for "god." "Jehovah doesn't this..." "Jehovah doesn't that..."
