The King of the North has now entered into the 'land of decoration' (the Spiritual Estate of Jehovah's People) - Annual Meeting
by Listener inthe final part of the october, 2018 annual meeting has now been released of jw org tv.the following includes a transcript of mark sanderson's speech for those that don't want to listen to the broadcast.. we have long held that the land of decoration is the "spiritual estate of jehovah's people"... now brothers what can we say about all these events that have taken place (referring to recent events in russia) in such a short period of time?
well, truly, if you're a student of the history of god's organization, you can say these events are unprecedented in our history.
we've never seen a country or a territory with 175,000 witnesses of jehovah go under ban.

Is it perhaps a milestone I've reached that when I see "King of the North" I now immediately think the thread will be about "Game of Thrones?"

Will You Stop Listening To Michael Jackson’s Music?
by minimus insince the hbo documentary, more people are condemning mj.
will these child abuse allegations affect you if you ever liked his music?.

By the time these boys suffered the alleged abuse, it appears MJ was already a skilled pedophile groomer. Sooooo, my question is, where are the other victims? Could he also have been groomed? And how could there be this massive of a coverup by, well...everybody? I guess it can happen. And I'm not saying it didn't happen. There are just some gaping holes in the story that don't make sense to me.
I didn't care for how the director presented the program. The music, the editing, dunno...bothered me...can't quite describe what it is. AGain, not making light of the subject matter one bit...that is pure evil...horrible.
I agree, wacko jacko MJ is perhaps the biggest weirdo ever, and took liberties, and did things that were wrong, absolutely wrong wrong wrong. At this point, it still is the accuser's word against a dead man. And there is the money that Wade said he went for to make the Jackson family face up to who MJ really was. Okay...
I love his talent and music...don't feel like listening to it right now. .02.

Remember The Green Song Books
by new boy inthen new and improved purple song books that came out in 1966. then there was the brown song book and a even newer one in 2006. .
thousands of hours wasted singing those stupid songs and their stupid lyrics.. song 106 "watch how we walk and watch we talk.
i remember inserting different works in the lyrics to relive the boredom.

So are there any carry over songs from the past in the new songbooks?
I was trying to think of the old old old one they always used to play as they marched out the door for baptism. But for the life of me, I can't remember...I've been gone too long I guess.

Funny not funny...the corporation. Is more worried about getting sued over salmonella than the repercussions from hiding a pedophile.
i agree, the whole world is in fear of litigious society. The annual end of year party is now a catered midday lunch for my company. Times have changed.
Still, there are religious groups and communities that do understand how beneficial informal gatherings are for people. But the WBTS is not interested in the well being of their faithful, after all they have the privilege of the RC once a year!

Since when does a slave appoint itself over anything???
by Roger Kirkpatrick inat matthew 24:45, where jesus discussed the faithful and discreet slave, he gave only two identifying features of that slave.
(1) providing the master’s domestics food at the proper time; and, (2) after having done so, being appointed by the master himself over all the master’s belongings.. since current watchtower teaching is that the appointment over all the master’s belongings is yet future and that such appointment is to be made by the master himself, how does the governing body of jehovah’s witnesses account for the fact that it has preemptively identified itself as that faithful and discreet slave?.
surely there remains among believing jws some who can discern the problem with this teaching!

Additional comment on the subject.
My elder brother asked me if I accepted the GB as the FDS. I said my acceptance didn't matter. The illustration is questioning not how the domestics treat the FDS, but how the FDS treats the domestics. My opinion isn't important scripturally.

Wait what???
Oh my goodness, I just checked her FB page and I see. I met her with Cha Ching and hubby, and she had always hoped to make it to Tahoe.
I remember the story of you guys finding each other. I am so sorry to hear this. RIP Dear Suzi!
Her son asked her what he wanted her to say to her friends and she said,
"So long and thanks for all the fish."
Exactly what I would say.

Has Anyone Ever Outed You For Being “Apostate”?
by minimus ineither here on this site or by a congregation member?
?.
-
Dagney
Yes. The wife of a member on here didn't like him going to meetups or going to lunch with me, which I do understand. So instead of going to him or me discuss, she went to a "sister K" we all knew and told her I was an apostate and met regularly with apostates.
A mutual friend had just newly left the JW, and was trying to sort her journey with a husband who was still in, was asked to meet the "sister K" at a restaurant for a drink. The "sister K" just unloaded on her the whole APOSTATE thing about me. She defended me the best she could. But it created a lot of difficulties that could have been avoided. The wife's intent was clear, but she was too weak to follow Bible counsel...so it goes.
