i`ve spent the morning and part of my afternoon... getting to the bottom of... why names were added to the awaa fan page... it`s a dangerous thing to happen in our world... faders can be outed,we can lose,family,friends... the results can be an absolute disaster... .

People were added by friends who thought that they would be interested in joining the group.
And that's okay with AAWA? They "thought" they would be interested and they get to have "Anti-Watchtower Activist" in their personal feed? One of my points to Juan was I didn't have the choice. That's what's wrong with AAWA and and not the other exJWgroups.
Edited to add: As I told Juan, no, AAWA does not get it. Still. Sadly.

Sadly the majority of people who complain seem to be doing very little in either supporting those exiting or exposing the WTS for the cult it is.
What is the factual basis for this comment?

I think one of the things that is starting to trouble me more about AAWA is that you still think it is okay to force add people. Juan said 1000 people are still on the FB page and only 5-6 have left. No exodus in number. I don't think I would have known about it unless I saw Rebel's comment. FB feed goes FAST...much like JWN. It was in my feed, but I just didn't put it together until I read the comment.
My guess is it may be the same for a large part of the 1000, just a guess. They didn't get to choose to come to the FB page. and that's okay with AAWA.
That just bothers me. It's not right.

Further on the names. Juan said there were multiple people from the other JW FB pages (I had been calling them sites...prob not the right term), who were adding people from the groups. Hence, the dilemma of not having one name.
But you can't be "added" to our facebook AAWA page - you can only "like" it. Nobody can "like" it for you.
That is a change. I had to cleck "Unlike" as well as "Unfriend" when I removed myself from the page last Sunday.

Update: Because I "unfriended" and "unliked" the AAWA site, Juan says they cannot tell who added me. Fair enough. He said because I am in other exJW sites, I may have been added by someone from one of those sites. I have asked for the names of the people who were adding from these other sites so I could contact them personally. I don't have a good feeling. I hope my feeling is wrong.
I am so disappointed in all this. But it is what it is...

There was no "very quick nip" in any bud on this subject. Because of that we are agonizingly still talking about it today.
This is one place I didn't think I would have to worry about things being made right, given our common ground. I'm beyond annoyed.

Update: The at [email protected] has responded to my email. He asked me to provide him with the names of the xJW groups I am a member of on FB.

@Juan Viejo2: Thank you for your response. I've been super busy all day at work and plan on sending a PM later when I have a chance to catch up on this thread.
As of yet, the powers that be that know who violated the privacy trust and breached a code of ethics have not produced the name of that individual.
This is a familiar feeling. EVERYBODY here knows of an organization that protects the rights of the violator over the rights of the victim or potential victims, don't we? AAWA seems like it has taken the same position; defensive and protective of it's own agenda over the victims of a careless act under its watch. Please prove me wrong.
