  What have you been up to?

  life as a jw is very...well...sheltered.

  many experiences are outright condemned.

  still, when others don't have specific rules against them, we more often than not, at least i did, choose not to engage in them so as not to stumble someone who would not approve.. very soon after my exodus from the wt i decided that life is an adventure.

  What should I do?

  i have pioneered for over four years.

  i have three children and a wife who at times has severe back problems.

  i have worked two jobs just to stay ahead of the bills and provide for my family.

  baptism.....again

  hi, i dont know how to tell my family that i dont wish to be baptized yet, i want to be baptized to serve jehovah, but i am unsure about being baptized as one of jehovahs witness.

  why cant i just be baptized like it says in the bible?

  what can i tell my family?

  Difficult moment in service

  i was out in service last week and a gentleman (mid 40s, i'd say) asked me about 1975. i answered that it was overzealous brothers, etc... he was very insistent with me and i ended up telling him that i would get back to him after speaking to an elder for further clarification.

  have you guys ever encountered that?

  i heard about a similar situation once but i am wondering what the best way to handle it is.

  What's Sacred, what's not?

  let's put forth a question here that should provoke some interesting responses.

  please feel free to give your thoughts on the matter inasmuch as that is the purpose of these boards.

  we (jehovah's witnesses) do not accept blood transfusions on the principle that 'blood is sacred'.

  if jesus said to keep celebrating the memorial 'until he returned' and he returned in 1914 then why do we still celebrate the memorial?

  isn't he here already!?!.

  Whats your goals:

  just as a way to get a dialog started what do you people consider you 2 most important goals: one can be thoecratic and the other more pragmatic.

  for example mine would be to (1) make all the meetings, ( sometimes i dont wake up on sundays until 5 or 6 pm) (2) get into better shape.

  jelly isnt just a nickname its a description.
