I noticed that many who post here have kind of thrown the "baby out with the bathwater", when it comes to the Bible and God.
If that is the case than going from being a jw to a "christian" would be like jumping out of the frying pan into the fire.
i noticed that many who post here have kind of thrown the "baby out with the bathwater", when it comes to the bible and god.. i understand that there is a fine line between love and hate.
maybe they blame god for the deception.
maybe they don't trust anything to do with god any more.

here is a sad, scary story about a whole country of isolated people whose news and knowledge of the real world around them is strictly controlled -- and the effect upon their minds.. this story reminded me of what happened to me during my 35 years 'in' the wt.
does it remind you of the same mind-set ?
it sure helped me understand the danger of extreme politics & religious dogma.. .
People who choose to be witnesses for the past 10 years in the information age in the United States are doing it to themselves. Henry Ford said the hardest thing for man to do is to think. And Witness in the USA dont want to think. So I guess they have to suffer, or ignorance is bliss.

i know many have been hurt by association with the wts, but i was just wondering, are there any truths that you accually can take away from your association with it.
for instance, before becoming a jw i would recite the lord's prayer, and had never read in matt.
that is was not to be recited, but that it was mearly there as an example of how to pray.
How about if one is a false prophet we are to flee from them. I got that from the jw's
after lady liberty gave a link to the new re-examine site, i found some details that are so disturbing its boggling my mind.. first, the original presidents were voted in, but not one vote per person but for every $10.00 contributed you received a vote.
so those already in power and with much money had tremendous sway as to who got in and who didn't.
this little scheme was not stopped until 1944.. so when rutherford was "elected by a unanimous vote" we can assume it was mainly of his own doing based on money contributed.
It sounds like the golden rule to me. He who has the gold makes the rules.
i don't find it the least bit appealing to even think of living forever under the jehovah's rule because he is such an egocentric god.
always worrying if you make him mad.
The JW's arent going to live forever in paradise either. So dont worry.

it took nearly five hours to cook but it's a beauty.. it contained nearly 4 lb of mixed fruits.
