  the da vinci code

  ok i havnt seen the movie or read the book yet but im going to watch it tonight, i was having a discussion with my girlfriends sister about the movie, and she is under the impression that some of it is real, for example jesus getting married and having offspring.. from what i can gather she is coming to this conclusion because da vinci painted a picture of the last supper and it has hidden messages in it.

  but she seems to beleive its true?!

  what does one persons paintings have to do with whether jesus was married?

  I do not know if the picture is any proof, I do not think so, but many of my friends do. That picture is the strongest point in the whole movie. The person standing next to Jesus does look like a woman to me.

  Do you think the core to large religions would allow religious diversity?

  i thought about this recently when the muslims turned on the pope for making a comment about their religion, that they disagreed with.

  as much as the pope might have come forward and said that he did not mean to offend, i think that for the most part the catholic religion has shown itself to be one that would like to convert the world and destroy the nonbelievers and other religions.

  i think the muslims have shown how they feel about the infidels.

  People are took much like seeker4 and a few others that frequent this board, only their ideas are the correct ones. I believe that 90% of this world would love to do away with anyone elses thinking that does is in agreement with thiers. If given a weapon that could erase other peoples thinking and implant only the religion of their choosing do it in the brain of an other they would do it in a heart beat, with out their conscience bothering them.

  What kind of "real" Christian lets the kids do Halloween?

  as you all know we have been out of the tower about 3 years now.

  i am still a christian but my hubby thinks of himself more as an agnostic.

  anyway, my son who is 12 asked if he could go trick or treating with my nieghbor and her son just to try it as it never has - and i said it was up to him to decide.

  As much as I would like to believe there is some truth in this da vinci code. I can not find it, a lot of anecdotal thinking with no proof other than the painting of the last supper, which is very interesting. The movie is fiction, but it is a great movie, the book is even better yet.

  Even though I don't think much of the Da Vinci Code do your thinking and research. Always be opened minded and form your own opinions

  I feel that a true Christian would not let thier children do Halloween. Even when you get the TRUE history you are worshipping an anti-christian religion founded long before Christianity was ever thought of.

  I do not believe in the Jesus that most Christians believe in, I do not believe in the bible at all anymore and feel I have strong proof in my thinking.

  If you call your self Christian and celebrate Halloween you are just deceiving yourselves. He that is faithful in little, is faithful in much.

  i was able to find another group of jw's doing the big tract this morning.

  i found it hard to get the 50'ish something lady to stop and talk to me, she was in such a hurry to get her 50 tracts done for the day.

  no bookbag, no bible- just a vinyl folder with tracts.

  when i was about 16 years old, a group of us friends would go hiking a lot on the weekend.

  we would rough it to some degree, just a sleeping back and sleeping under the stars.

  one night, while hiking into a lake in northern california, we all were sleeping in a clearing just out of legal distance from a small mountain lake we liked to fish in.
