When growing up, I don't remember being taken out of school for much, but my ex-wife takes my daughter out for so many holidays. I just found out that she took her out thursday and friday for Valentines day. Is this even legal? Any of you have any advice?

The Preaching work has ended and now the end will come... have you heard ?
by thasmyquixtar5000 inthis one was too funny... sent to me by my brother an audio tape of a talk stating that the preaching work is now over and that witnesses are in every country in the world, except north korea, somila, and afganistan (excuse my miss spellings) but really this was just too funny so funny i could not even listen to the whole thing with out screaming in laughter.
the brother goes on to say that they will not be preaching in those countries becaues jehovah god will never put his people in danger and allow them to be killed... hello... what about all those that died over no blood, and what about all those in africa rewanda that the brother told to refuse to except an id card sumilar to our ss card telling those poor brothers that it was a form of worship?
i could not believe it but thought it was just tipical of the times, too many of the witnesses are leaving, and the love of the greater number has cooled the hell off... they are grabbing at straws right about now.

Maybe I'm putting more into this than there is...but sometimes I get the feeling that these things are allowed to be said and later denied to see how the R&F will react. Kinda like a poll to get peoples thoughts on things to deceide if you want to try something in the future.
Just my thoughts.

WHOA! Elders don't care about me after all!!!
by Schism inhey everyone!.
wow, i am amazed.
about 3 months ago, i finally became nauseated about going to the meetings and i went from attending each one, to attending zero.

Its funny....a little over a year ago I fell into a bad depression. Basically had a hard time functioning around people. In the 3 months of meetings I missed at that time, not one Elder or non-relative called, send a card, visited, etc. So I know what you feel like. I kept thinking if they are the shepards, why don't they try. The first meeting back I tried, not a single person came up to me before the meeting(and I was there 15 minutes ahead of time like a good little boy). Only 1 person came up after the meeting, I eventually started walking out crying.
Its funny, I always remember the Elders mentioning in passing conversation that the CO was visiting and it was time to get around to sherparding calls. Definitely love there huh?

Big Question
by choosing life ini know there may not be an answer to this question, but i am truly interested in other's views.
i know many are of various beliefs and some do not believe in god at all.. the question is: why does god not stop the suffering?
i watch so many suffer for no reason and no matter how i try to figure it out, i always come back to the fact that a loving parent would not allow their child to suffer needlessly.

I've only been DA'd for about a month, so i'm not entirely sure what I believe compared to what I have been fed all my life. I however also have a theory that we are part of an experiment also....lol Ever seen "The Forgotten" with Julianne Moore? I sometimes wonder...

I very much appreciate all the kind wisdom in this reguard. It does sound like it going to be a long, tough fight. As much as I hate to admit it, you are all correct in the fact that there will be no reasoning with my ex. Its so easy for us to see their error now that we are on the outside, but when you are on the inside you have a completely closed mind. It is a sad thing really. I wish I could help my family to see the errors of the organization but that would only push them farther away. I'm still really struggling with the fact that my family is gone, but more so the fact that someday no matter how hard I try to open hr eyes, I may loose my daughter also. Thats the part that has kept me up at night this last week. I know with all my heart that I have made the right decision and will continue to try and help my daughter keep an open mind. Thank you all again.

Per Audo Sapere's suggestion I have reposted this with a different title:
I could use some advice on how to handle this situation. My wife and I are almost divorces (she has finally signed the papers...what an ordeal). Yesterday when I was with my daughter she proceeded to tell me that "I worship Satan". Now my daughter is only 5 years old, so I know that was a remark she was taught. When dropping my daughter off before meeting I confronted my wife/ex about this. She said that she is going to teach her what the bible says.
I tried to explain to her that just because someone doesn't worship God in the same manner as her, that doesn't mean they worship Satan. Since I no longer have my Watchtower CDROM(Could I pay someone to burn one and send it to me? Or even download one?) I cannot even research this to disprove it from her own literature. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks -
