They had a Kingdom Hall funeral, he donated money while he was alive. They don't want to scare away other celebrities and millionaires, so NO DF For Prince!

Will Bro. Rogers be DF'd posthumously for drug addiction?
by ShirleyW insome have been df'd for suspicion of smoking cigarettes, yet bro.
rogers death is because of an addiction, fentanyl is what they are saying is the drug that did him in which was reported on the news as being more potent than heroine.
why is it that some nosy sister can report you because someone who looked like you was in the parking lot the same time as she was, yet bro.

Is it Time to Declare that The Great Tribulation Has Started ?
by OnTheWayOut ini don't really engage in doctrinal discussions about jw's anymore.
they seem to say some pretty crazy stuff.
but i have read some threads discussing doctrinal changes and how watchtower is really out of ideas and money at the same time.

I will reply to individuals when I can. I just want to add that they really seem to have blown or mismanaged or poorly invested so much money. They focus so heavily on obedience w/o questions and they have so many people fading and young people just walking away. They already have implied the 120 years "like the days of Noah" before the flood could mean something.
I know this kind of thing goes against everything they learned since 1975, but they survived that and paid for modern presses with that debacle. I have wondered if desparate times would make them declare 2034 as a date of significance and even just "imply" that the great tribulation could be upon us, "but we sometimes see prophecy fulfilled afterward" so we are on the watch. And I have wondered if they would go further than imply and prepare some kind of bunkers for their own escape. All current GB will be too old (or dead already) to care what this means for JW's of 2040 and beyond.

I don't really engage in doctrinal discussions about JW's anymore. They seem to say some pretty crazy stuff. But I have read some threads discussing doctrinal changes and how Watchtower is really out of ideas and money at the same time. I have wondered if a group of Governing Body members would be willing to move the members along to a different set of rules that would cause major changes and allow them to often say "No time to explain, just do as we say."
So, with a worldwide focus on pedophiles in the Catholic church and a problem in Europe with Muslim refugees and difficulty with Sharia Law attempts, with the United States having a presidential candidate proposing that Muslims be restricted from entering the country, and finally- with the Royal Commission of Australia and the thought of a Russian ban of Jehovah's Witnesses along with various lawsuits against Watchtower for their rules allowing children to become victims of predators- WITH ALL THAT- is it time to say that the beast (or the image of the beast or whatever) has turned on false religion and is turning it's attention to "true religion" ?
Could this be a way for Watchtower to seize any assets and dispose of them as they wish? Kingdom Halls, Assembly Halls, branch offices, circuit overseers, the printing of any literature- nothing would be safe from the chopping block.
This would appease those old JW's that still think the "end" should have come before the 1914 Generation passed away (in a bizarre stretched kind of way). It would settle their thoughts on why there are so many changes and keep them from fading away to inactivity since their precious awaited time has arrived and they don't want to jump off the ark of salvation as the rain is starting.
So, without turning this into some over-complicated explanation of scriptures that need to be satisfied and without saying that such an announcement would contradict something Watchtower has already said (because we know it will), your thoughts on whether they would do this or not, how they would do this, what the reaction would be- all that kind of stuff would be greatly appreciated. -

Witness Carts - A Vehicle for Significant Decline
by slimboyfat ini was stalking to a jw today about her recent experience on the carts and with being a jw generally.
until this conversation i considered the carts as just an ineffective preaching method and a harmless waste of time.
but now i wonder if the effect of the carts might be to produce noticeable decline in jw numbers.

Some things don't go together.
Nearly 100% of people who go to prison in the United States have eaten pizza.
That doesn't mean eating pizza makes one more likely to go to prison. It just shows how common pizza is.JW's are cart/table witnessing now and the number of active JW's is severely down.
I mean, I didn't leave because of the style of recruiting. There are plenty of reasons to become inactive.
I could just as easily say that there has been a decline since the silly overlap generation doctrine or since the 100 year anniversary of Jesus casting Satan out of heaven or YADDA YADDA.I actually think cart witnessing is much easier than getting doors slammed in your face, and while much rural and foreign language recruiting is pretty easy, just driving from address to address can cost plenty in gas. Better to sit or stand at one spot.

And a few in the atheist community of God deniers (not many now) still ignore 20 years of dinosaur soft tissue documented in science literature. because it is inconsistent with what they choose to believe.
People in science often propose things and discover exceptions and mistakes. When they are wrong or haven't answered something, scientists will change statements and add thoughts and grow in understanding. Science looks for an answer to explain why the soft tissue exists and Perry scoffs at them. Meanwhile, Perry ignores all the proven science that doesn't fit in his world. Fundamentalists typically remain staunch that the incomplete story written by goat herders is the only explanation. They fill in data and ignore contradictions. And I love how Perry tries to say "No, it's the other way around." Seriously?
Did you even realize that the soft tissue in this case supports evolution theory?
The tissue was collagen, they reported in the journal Science, and it shared similarities with bird collagen — which makes sense, as modern birds evolved from theropod dinosaurs such as T. rex. - See more at: http://www.livescience.com/41537-t-rex-soft-tissue.html#sthash.b0iTeOkU.dpuf -

RC Was Worse Than I thought...
by JW_Rogue ini was visiting with my family and it seems the rc was worse than i thought.
now they all seem to think that "we are so close to the end" and that the "brothers are really preparing us for the gt".
some even saying that soon our message will change to a judgement message for mankind and talking about how we need to improve "everything we do".

I have to believe that their money situation is worse than many imagined. This sounds like a reason to abandon literature distribution.
It also sounds like a given reason to accept anything crazy from Watchtower like taking all the congregations' money and making individual congregations move out of their Kingdom Hall.

This guy could be doing a power play to show his wife that she's essentially powerless in this situation. Also, it could just be that he is saving the marriage from divorce by showing up. If the elders tell her they cannot prove guilt, she might just accept that.

The Vredefort crater in South Africa is the largest confirmed impact crater ever discovered on earth at nearly 200 miles across. It is estimated that the crater is over 2 billion years old.
If you use the young-earth model, and the massive asteroid plowed into the earth some time in the last 10,000 years, history most definitely would have recorded it, and we would still see the effects of its impact today on the life of the planet. It would have caused mass extinctions and life would not have yet come close to recovering.
So ignore evidence and say the scientists are wrong. It's just that simple to Perry. Maybe he will say that God created the world with the Vredefort crater already there and dozens of other large craters already in it, for no other reason than to make us think the earth had been hit by massive asteroids when in fact, it never was. It's a test of our faith that goes right along with seeing light from stars that would take millions and billions of years to arrive on earth. God must have made it look that way to make our scientists look stupid.
The age of our old earth has been calculated to fit the deceleration of the earth by tidal friction, the distance of the moon from the earth, the amount of dust on the moon, the dating of fossils. You cannot simply ignore the facts that don't fit your model.

While I know they will play the persecution card on this, I gotta side with Russia on this. They are an extremist group that preaches hate for outsiders. -

This is tragic. So so sorry for your loss. As some have said, she may have shortened her painful circumstances. But you have every right to be angry with Watchtower for taking her decisions on this away from her.
