Congratulations to you and your family. I don't have children, but highly agree with your husband that I would want any child to grow up without any of the JW garbage put upon them.

Pictures? Measurements? Income? Do you own your home? All important questions.
No, seriously- I get what you are asking. That's a tough guy to find. Are you working your way back because you believe the doctrine or because of family? Do you want this guy to be a secret atheist or a believer?

Are we in a computer simulation?
by Brokeback Watchtower inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znmk2viuqba.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/simulation_hypothesis.
consequences of living in a simulation[edit]some scholars speculate that the creators of our hypothetical simulation may have limited computing power; if so, after a certain point, the creators would have to deploy some sort of strategy to prevent simulations from themselves indefinitely creating high-fidelity simulations in unbounded regress.

Maybe I will watch that later, Brokeback.
I want to say that it doesn't matter. The vast majority of us are not going to live carefully(strive to be entertaining and praiseworthy ) just in case we are in a simulation. So all I know is this life, real or not. It feels real, so I have to live as if it is.
Another obscure philosophy is that I am real and you all are simulations to distract me. Or perhaps I am a brain in a vat and you all are just electronic stimulation to my brain.
YADDA YADDA YADDA.
In all these cases, I must live as if it is all real and not worry about such things.

Musicians Who Died in the Last Year - or Through the Years- Who Do you Miss Most ?
by flipper ini think for me in the last year the death of david bowie got to me the most.
not only in the way he handled his demise so classy by even making a song about it and a you tube about dying and sharing it with fans, but just his whole persona i always thought was pretty cool.
plus i enjoyed a good many of his songs.

Of the recent ones, Glenn Fry and David Bowie were very much a part of my music in my teens and 20's. I kind of figured I would be able to catch The Eagles in concert before they all went their ways.

Expanding number of DC/RC's
by DwainBowman inaccording to my elder in law, by next year the number of dc/rc's will increase by 143. the size of conventions will get smaller.
the elder in law says the goal is to make them all have around 2,000 or so at each.
they are going to make more manuals detailing each job and it's responsibilities.

EyesOpenHeartBroken2 days agoIf they cut it to 2 days, they could even hold 2 RCs per weekend...Friday/Saturday and Sunday/Monday.
They could reduce set up time and cost of venues and rake in 2 weekends worth of cash in one.
Arghhh..did I just give them a good idea...?Stop giving them such good advice. RC's in an Assembly Hall are to hide the lack of attendance, but mainly for keeping the money in-house. Simple as that. Once they are sure they can get the same money for two-days, three-day events are history.
millie2102 days agoYes, if they make the big summer assembly seem like the old circuit assemblies then where is the excitement?
Besides, isnt this one of the ways to marry off their young people? Let them see each other at the "big" assembly?
I remember the young people used to do the promenade round and round in those big ole coliseums! They don't care about members being "excited." Or a better answer- They see the young ones leaving anyway.

They want to have a "shepherding call" with me, but here's the twist...
by Captain Schmideo2 ini got it before 8 in the morning on a work day, as a text message.
nothing beats a warm invitation for spiritual encouragement than a quick electronic message.. sheesh.....

You might chose to ignore the text, but then you will get a call.
"No thanks, I'm good." That is sufficient. -

UPDATE: My existential crisis comes to a close
by Freeandclear inin case you read my other thread regarding my existential crisis and how it was making my life miserable and left me feeling hopeless, purposeless and joyless i though i'd share what's recently happened to me and my way of thinking and have i've for the time being resolved my existential crisis.
i write every day in a journal.
i've been doing this for years.
-
OnTheWayOut
My existential crisis came from my "stability" being built on an eggshell foundation. I had given God credit for saving my life from a bullet and dragging me out of my lifestyle choices to "The Truth."
When that turned out to be a lie, my foundation (built upon for nearly 2 decades) simply collapsed.
Starting over again, I got through the stages of grief at losing the God I thought I knew. I finally figured out that it is I (myself) that saved my life. I chose to live and the fairytale God was my security blanket until I could let go of it and be a mature person who looks at things sceptically.
The actual deep truth, based on facts and reality, doesn't care what anyone believes or change based on false beliefs. There is much to ponder and learn and one can find a comfort from true knowledge and science that is way better than the fairytales and security blanket. It is a pearl for the finding when you are ready.

Very dark and confusing info...
by sp74bb insome internal sources in jw.org has brought me attention to the following data:.
- in which european country, not member of the eu, and well known for their banking industry, jw.org and some affiliated structures do maintain some business incorporated structures and companies?.
- which is the purpose of these business and company structures?.
-
OnTheWayOut
This thread certainly is VERY DARK AND CONFUSING INFO.
If I was "famous" on Swahili forums, I would at least link to the Swahili forum and if anyone is interested in your very dark and confusing (lack of) info, they could google translate. But I will say this:
- Off the coast of which country of the world, well known for maple syrup exportation, can you find an iceberg where no JW's have ever been?
- Why the hell should we know the answer or care?
