Fading
by Cordelia18 inhi i was on here a few years ago, i ended up caving to family pressure and returning to the borg i've since married and have 2 children .
all the reasons i returned are still here, my parents are elderly and i really don't want to hurt them but i just can't do it anymore i need to leave before my kids are brainwashed, i need to be clever this time .
last time i was dfed and became dependant on drink i am in aa and sober now and learning the true meaning of sprituality i know without a doubt that it is a dangerous cult, but i need some tips on fading, its so hard when i want to shout from the roof tops how blind they are.

Fading is tough if your main goal is anything beyond civil relationships with your family.
D.O.C. has a fairly good reason for not attending. Or just blame weakness and busy schedules and YADDA YADDA anything until they get the hint that you just don't want to go there and just don't want to talk about your reasons.
Let them think its just spiritual weakness. Then add in that the elders talked to you recently, and they were total jerks.

by goingthruthemotions inwhat a crazy dream, it was so cool....she came to me and told me she da'd from the cult.

I haven't recalled actually dreaming the same about my wife while I was asleep.
But I daydream about her waking up to the truth and leaving JW's.

Why are things wrong?
by Tim207 induring our family worship tonight a thought popped into my head while watching this weeks video on demon influence.
why is does jehovah not like certain things?
like why is homosexuality wrong?

Sin was invented by men in charge of the faith of others, invented to make them feel guilty or unworthy. Then the men would offer a way, usually involving something of value, to appease that guilt or make you feel worthy.
Jehovah's Witnesses are following the Christian doctrines of the Bible and adding their own special spin to make members feel guilty or unworthy, just as others have done as long as organized religion exists.

What's The Point?
by AllTimeJeff init's been 12 years since i submitted my resignation letter, and stopped playing by their rules.. in a spurt of manic rationality, i blew up the bridge, sky high.
knowing that the diseased organ would need to be forever removed, away from anything remotely functional in my mind, body, and soul.
lest i be tempted to return.... so, i left.

Slightly rounding, I was fully "in" for 20 years and fully "out" for the last 13 years.
In the last 11 or even 12 years, I could not imagine going back to a similar lifestyle of busy busy busy for some bullshit. I have a wife, a mother, and an entire in-law family still in that religion. So I don't feel I will ever 100% get away from it. But aside from a couple of weddings and funerals, I have stayed away from it.Mental health was extremely important to me. I had such a boatload of unresolved issues that caused me to enlist as a JW to begin with. I had to address them. Bonnie Zieman's books had not existed yet. They would have helped tremendously.
https://www.amazon.com/Bonnie-Zieman/e/B00XROE7JG%3Fref=dbs_a_mng_rwt_scns_share
But I did find some great books on science, religion, philosophy, cults, etc. etc. and I did pretty good. I have a good job with health benefits, so I went to a therapist at the beginning of getting out and did even better.
The COVID19 thing has reared it's JW-ness into my life. Many many JW's I have known have my cell number and haven't spoken or texted in years. I was grateful they were leaving me alone. Because they know I am a first responder, a few of them have taken to texting me their concerns. But I know it is short-lived, as they are just a bunch of busy busy pioneers and elders that suddenly are not so busy. Sometime soon, they will be back to being fully immersed in their false spirituality and I can go back to being left alone. -

Who is considered more bizarre?
by incognito2014 injws or mormons.
from a public point of view not from people within the religion as that would be obvious.. examples of extreme beliefs or behaviour would be useful..

I am with JeffT on page 1
I've long thought that Mormons have some weird beliefs, but they are much better members of the community than JW's.
Mormons are weirder and have a much crazier doctrine and have still achieved the Watchtower dream- being considered a more mainstream religion. Kinda like they are just more devout, but still do Christmas and serve in the military and put education high on their list of priorities. They may be more accepted in the United States for all that, plus they are extremely a white religion.

How can I promote a book that is exJW related?
by VerdadTJ2 ini have a friend in guatemala who was born and raised in el salvador.. he wrote a book in spanish which i am translating to english.. normally, he would be making enough money to provide for his family by working at a textile factory as their graphics designer.
but, given the covid19 crisis, he was laid off.. he was hoping to make a little side money by writing a book before this whole covid19 thing hit, and he sold only a few copies of the spanish version, because the market is small and it's really small in the spanish-speaking exjw community.the book is really good, it's very entertaining, and it gives a fresh perspective of what it was to be a latino jw and coming of age in the early 1990's.so... any tips on how to promote it?
i would like to sell it at $10usd and sell at least 100 copies.

Here is how you promote an ex-JW book.
I wrote a book. Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/Fade-Truth-Learning-Unlearning-Witnesses-ebook/dp/B007XAMTCW/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=fade+from+the+truth&qid=1587768117&sr=8-1 -

Do You Believe Joe Biden Sexually Assaulted A Woman In The 90’s?
by minimus inthere is an allegation floating around saying he assaulted one of his female staffers .
most mainstream media do not report on this claim.
they either don’t believe it or don’t want to believe it.. funny how if it were brett kavanaugh or donald trump, they would be all over it.
-
OnTheWayOut
I had to give Brett Kavanaugh a pass on such an allegation as was presented so I will do the same for Joe.
That said, I do think the charge needs to be looked into more seriously than it has been.
Minimus said: "I bet Joe could pass a lie detector test and say he didn’t molest anyone. He doesn’t know where he is right now."
Sadly, I think Joe would pass the test for such a reason. -

Stolen from a Facebook meme:
There should be NO billionaires.
Once you reach $999 Million, all further earnings go to taxes for the poor, you get a trophy that says "I won capitalism" and they name a dog park after you.
