Norm basically lost his SNL Weekend Update gig because he wouldn't let up on insulting/joking about O.J. Simpson. That was about the only thing I liked about Norm MacDonald. The video is pretty much copying Rodney Dangerfield wife jokes. Rodney had better timing.
I like many comics for their dry humor, but to me, Norm was all dry and little humor.

Good news and bad news --- pandemic and Kingdom Halls.
by pistolpete inu/aposta-fish from exjw reddit.
good news bad news pandemic and kingdom halls.. first the bad news, coming out of israel - one of the first countries to push total vaccination.
the news is the vaccine especially the pfizer one looks like it wears off and hospital rates have gone up for those that have been vaccinated.
-

Israel. About 600 people are in the hospital with COVID and about 300 of them had their vaccinations.
Another 5.7 million people had their vaccinations and are not in the hospital.
Sounds okay to me. Vaccinations are not a guarantee against COVID. They reduce the odds that someone will get COVID somewhat and extremely reduce the odds of a serious case if one does gets it. -

Blonde Jokes
by Bangalore inblonde jokes.. two blondes went to the pound where each adopted a puppy.
the joy of their new best friend was quickly overshadowed when they got home and the first blonde said, "i think we're in trouble, how are we going to tell them apart?
" this lead to several hours of concentration until finally, the second blonde said, "i've got an idea.

ReservationsIf they see you immediately resign as an elder and then stop going to meetings, they might realize they can do that too. And yes, I am being serious.
Okay, you say you are in no position to leave. If you insist. But at least resign as an elder stating stress or whatever or not even offering a reason. (Just say, "I haven't sinned, but I need to work on my own spirituality.")
During COVID 19 shut down might be a great time for that.
Enjoy life as a less-involved observer. Others might be inspired. -

It takes a while, but eventually a person finds his way out.
by pistolpete init hard to believe------you don't have the truth.. sometimes, for many----it takes half of your life -- or more---to figure it out.
it was like swimming upstream with lead boots pulling you back in.
and the closer you got to the "real" truth----the further away you strayed from your intimate group.

I told a good friend that his grandkids might grow up and come find him when they leave that crappy religion, probably as young adults if not sooner.
It's just sad that there are some that never figure it out. I don't know what would wake up my JW relatives. If Anthony Morris shot someone on 5th Avenue, I doubt that would deter them. But as time goes on and the end is not yet, I see my die-hard relatives allowing the religion to be less and less important. I can settle for that I guess.

If I said there weren't enough good questions before Minumus was gone, would you all recognize that's a tribute and a dig at the same time?

The Impact of Less "Appointed Men" & This Site Thank You
by JWTom inwith the passing minimus, we all may think about what this site has meant to us personally.
i lurked here for quite a few years before becoming active as a poster....still i consider what i have done to be very slight compared with others.
may minimus rest in peace and a big thank you to all that have helped me here over the years.. a new member that is a pimo elder (reservations) posted here about how he could wake people up while remaining a pimo elder.

I have to agree with Simon. I faded over a period longer than a year to try to help my wife out. I resigned as an elder right away and then cut back on attending until it was time to just stop. It did not work. My wife is very much a JW to this day. I maintain a relationship with JW family because I am not disfellowshipped. But the same result would have been achieved if I just up and quit, walked away.
Everyone has to figure out what's best for them. Having family still in, especially close family, is a huge factor. But many might be best off just walking away and just having the "inactive" status. -

A minimus is: a creature or being that is the smallest or least significant.
Our Minimus was full of the least significant questions, but they added up to great content.

If God exists, what would be a good reason why he never communicates or helps his creation by intervention?
by pistolpete inyou have probably heard all kinds of excuses why god doesn’t communicates with his creation or why he doesn’t intervene.. some examples.. no one can see god because he is a spirit.. but we can hear god---yet he chooses not to talk to humanity.. god only communicates with certain people.
moses, samuel, abraham, etc.
but there are many people today who also claim that god spoke to them yet we ignore them but believe god spoke to people who lived thousands of years ago and we can’t really verify if that was so.

Coming up with excuses for a God who isn't there?
How about "He isn't there." ?
