I need help with this one. What do you think I should do?

my wife is pleasant and easy to get along with.

she is also helpful to many.

lately, however, there is a jw sister who some are curious about has befreinded my wife.

You start with your title, "What do you think I should do?" You make a strange statement: "...looks like a Lesbian, sounds like a Lesbian, and lately is starting to feel like a Lesbian."

Then, some give a serious answer in the same kind of tone, and you blast them:

I know you are seriously asking for help, but YOU DID ASK and you started out with the goofy tone about lesbians, so lighten up.

And seriously, the suggestion to cock block her by sitting in the second seat from the end where your wife will sit on the end is a very good one.

it has been 2 and a half years since my departure from the religion.

i was told by my parents from the start that i would never speak to them until i returned to jehovah dog.

a few months later they told people they hoped i died before the end came, then all of this culminating in them telling my inactive / fading sister that they don't consider me a child anymore and they have given me up to satan.

Not that I would answer, but if I did...I would say "Don't worry. Your Jehovah has definitely removed any motherly love you claimed you had."

I give allowance for family being in a dangerous mind control cult. But some are too far wrapped up in it. My condolences on the loss of family to Watchtower.

Yes, "Creation" alone demonstrates the lack of a loving creator.

I tend to mention birth defects and disease among children, but creation attacking a puppy is also proof enough.

It doesn't prove there is no god, but amply proves that if there was a god, he's a real ball-buster.

Do you consider this site Godly or Ungodly

over the years, i have seen a change in heart with the country i grew up in and the general view of what they perceive as how everyone should view things in relation to morality.

a strictly religious country for centuries now forever changed within a short number of years.

i have also seen the viewpoint on this site gradually change in many ways.

Wake up yourself.

The Bible says that women are property and should be silent in church and obey their husbands. The Bible says it’s okay to beat your slaves as long as you don’t kill them. The Bible says to kill your children if they talk back to you. The Bible orders you to kill witches.

At no point in the Bible is there a coherent, systematic break down of morality. The 10 Commandments is the closest it gets, and even those (on a whole) do more damage than good, and the rest of the commandments following those 10 are maniacal and contradict other commandments elsewhere in the Bible.

Using the Bible as a moral code will leave you confused, self-loathing, illogical and fanatical.

so i am walking down the street in a spanish neighborhood and two men, obviously jw's, are standing between houses writing furiously on their tiny slips.

i am nearly a block away approaching and they just kept writing the whole time i walked up.

i finally arrive to pass them and they are still both writing.

Ohiamfree, I think the difference is that you rang a bell and the person you might talk to expects a pitch from you and can simply end the pitch or listen, but the person in the street is going somewhere or engaged in some activity and he doesn't stop to answer the door, but you have to stop him. You have to interrupt at a different level than knocking at the door. Really though, it is about the same. He can accept or reject quickly and move on if he wants to.

you think it's the holy spirit that appoints the elders, at least that's what new jw males are told.

the culture within the organization dictates to all young male jehovah's witnesses that unless you are an elder, you will not get the sultry, passionate- brunette, the voluptuous, curvaceous,- blond, or the seductive, erotic, red headed-vamp..

so unaware of the social forces that are shaping your mind, you succumb to the dictum issued by the governing body to conform to the structure already in place- if you want to be successful.

I moved up the ladder pretty quick. I was the "study" of one of the powerhouse elders, and making me into a prodigy was a feather in his cap. I was totally blown away by the appointment about 6 years after baptism as a young adult. It was pretty early on for a Dub. Plus, I was so totally into the religion that I probably seemed like a good company man.

I was already married to a JW about the same time I was appointed an MS, so I never got my seductive, erotic, red headed vamp. I sure would have liked that.

oppostate, the neighborhood I live in is over 90% Spanish. They do every door and may have to send in a slip when they find someone like me that does not speak Spanish. Most are dual language, perhaps weak in English but still better at it than me and my Spanish, but many speak Spanish only.

AFRIKANMAN, you add to my point very well. There was a time when the majority spent some effort reaching people. Now, the majority does not try to reach people. But they still waste their time taking notes or sitting/standing by a cart.

SoCal101, that sounds so strange. I have watched enough LAW AND ORDER on television to know that if someone is asking about my neighbors, I don't think I should give them information.

westiebilly11, so true. A further waste of time- hold up the best time-wasters as examples. I wonder if, due to the cost of literature, platform skits at conventions will include wonderful examples of cart-witnesses being there all day to "save" people with the holy literature, but apparently Satan got to everyone that day and they placed nothing, but earned their way into heaven for the 8 hours apiece at the cart. (Oh, and they did not get skin cancer because they had umbrellas.)

tim310rd, that is my actual picture. I look hispanic. I get what you are saying, but there was definitely no attempt whatsoever to talk to me or other, clearly Spanish-speaking people walking by. This time was being counted in completing a door-to-door territory, not reaching people on the street. Reaching people on the street is for others, the cart-witnesses......well......for cart-witnesses to be out there where the angels can guide the right-hearted people to approach them and interrupt their conversation and ask for a good magazine or brochure that will wind up bringing them into the truth by it's magic quality of being just what they needed to read.
