Sorry, just as importantly- I lost my thought when interrupted and wanted to post before I flew out the door. -

If you can't see it, it's Tony Morris introducing a Caleb and Sophia video about sexual predators. It's been talked about, and so has Tony's (and the organization's) twisted misrepresentation of the facts.
Today, I am caught up hearing about Australia. All those cases, my my my!! I am pretty sure the press and the social media will be brutal and things will catch on like wildfire. What I am asking today- by not ignoring these things, and perhaps they cannot, will this issue continue to grow worldwide- particularly in America and Europe? I mean, the average U.S. witness would never hear about something in Australia, and even our trying to bring attention to it would cause them to shut down and say "You are just an evil apostate." But there the GB are, highlighting that something is rotten in Spiritual Paradise.
Will more cases pop up and just pile on? In other words, will existing cases cause more people to come forward with legit cases (kind of like Bill Cosby) and will lawyers be more willing to file knowing there's settlement money? Will young JW's seek out more google searches about the subject because of Tony Morris or because of whispers about Candace Conti or Australia or other cases? Are we at the tip of the iceberg? And just as importantly,

Hundreds of JW Child Molesters in Australia not Reported to Police- CNN News you tube
by flipper ini felt it might be a good idea to post this so that sitting on the fence jw's or jw lurkers can see that this australia jw child abuse news of 1,006 jw child molesters not being reported to police by elders is a reality that has hit mainstream news media.
i thought this report was very well done.
here's the link : http://www.cnn.com/videos/world/2015/07/28/australia-jehovah-witness-sex-abuse-hannigan-lklv.cnn.

I have been a bit busy and haven't caught up with this story until just now.
WTF (Watchtower Farms) is up with this organization. There were that many to cover up and none of those cases was reported to police.
I wonder how I can share this with my wife. Maybe I will leave the link right in the middle of the screen on the laptop.

FOTW on FB
by oppostate inif you have a facebook account head on over to: https://www.facebook.com/groups/flagsoftheworld/.
they're discussing the jw flags that showed up at the rc.. one jw seems to be asking why would it be strange for the wt to have a flag for their religion.. i dunno, maybe because flags can be symbolic idols according to previous wt teachings?.

OnTheWayOut
If the members could only step back and look at themselves and how the organization has managed to sneak that symbol in so forcefully. Oh, they will make excuses for Mother: We don't worship or salute it, it contains no idolatrous symbols, YADDA YADDA. Yeah, but you got children carrying banners on a stick with it, jewelry and ties and pins really no different than the cross on a Catholic, you have it on all the Kingdom Halls. -

One thought on going to the meetings for your wife's sake.
The kids hate it. You hate it. I know you go for her sake, but does that really help? I say this because you may just be keeping her sure that you will one day hear the right talk to bring you back or else something at the meeting will bring you to your senses.
I would consider telling her how much you love her but want to stop going with her to the Kingdom Hall because of the repetitive crap that just isn't true and you want to go do something else with the kids while she's gone.

An elder, Chief MD in Honolulu clinic goes door to door. Testimony given at JW convention
by AndersonsInfo inhttp://www.pressreader.com/usa/honolulu-star-advertiser/20150725/281848642300889/textview.
it sounds to me like he was a jw before he became a physician.
"kalauawa, who became a jw 31 years ago, said he had to overcome a major conflict between his religious and professional beliefs, because jws are opposed to blood transfusions.
-
OnTheWayOut
I picture the scene with this doctor's cognitive dissonance.
"You need a blood transfusion right away. Doctor Smith, please sign this."
"Hee hee, I got away with it again. Jehovah must love me."

So heres latest from local hall
by poopie ina friend of mine that is df went to hall today someone held door for him he thanked them ,soon after and elder aproached wispered in his ear "you cant talk to anyone" the pharisees .
-
OnTheWayOut
Actually, a DF'ed person is free to talk to anyone they want to talk to. It is the faithful JW that must not talk to THEM. Even there, they play the cat-and-mouse game of saying that people CHOOSE to shun the person. We all know that's nonsense.
If you want to be reinstated, yes- you have to play the silent game. But what an ass-hat for shooting someone down for saying "Thank you."

a man couldn't hold an appointed position in a congregation if he was in university because of setting a bad example for others, especially the youth.
I bet they accepted his money, gave him pats on the back for his achievements, and down the road after it was said and done, made him an elder. Some things never change. "Don't go to college" is a cry they make because many will wake up and leave the Witnesses. So if someone dares to defy but remains with the JW's, well.....they are a huge asset.
The whole piece sounds like a propaganda story that Headquarters could have written (or at least dictated) adn submitted to the news. The article has not only the doctor, but a couple with a little girl afterward. It "normalizes" the JW's. I could write the between-the-lines stuff: "WE HAVE DOCTORS, THEY DON"T DEPRIVE ANYONE OF BLOOD." "He uses his education to his advantage in the ministry." "You should all average 5 or more hours every weekend and use vacations to put in more hours." "Drag your little girl in service until she finds it normal."

Ray Franz and You.
by John Aquila inif ray franz would have kept his mouth shut and not disfellowshipped, and remained part of the governing body how many of us ex-jw would still be trapped in the cult?.
would we have come this far?.
-
OnTheWayOut
When I had posted for the first time on this forum, I had yet to ever hear of Ray Franz and his books. The internet was loaded with information that helped me to escape, but it was me that started the search. So take some of it out and there was more to replace it.
But yeah, Ray Franz was just the man to write about the Ivory Tower and what really goes on.

So sorry to read of his family caught up in the JW rules.
and his response.....does anyone know???
Don't get me wrong, but I learned right away that they do things that way when I was appointed an elder. Since there really wasn't anything I could do to stop it, I magnified it instead. Any member in trouble in my congregation was my family member. If I could help them, I would tell them what the body of elders needed to hear or not to hear. But plenty of people got assigned to plenty of different elders. And when they have an agenda, there's nothing you can do. But your husband didn't just "get in trouble." He's outta there. He does need to try to just move on.
