This stuff just won't work. A bump in donations for the "Christmas season" will just mean less money in January. Increases from congregations mean reductions in profit as assemblies.

from the october 19 letter to the body of elders:.

dear anthony morris, iii:.
i wanted to send you a note of "thanks" on this special day.. why is this day special, you may ask?
one year ago today, you, tony, woke me up to the fact that the governing body could not have jehovah's blessing or direction.. last year, on november 8th & 9th, 2014, the united states branch visit was broadcast to over 1,000,000 jehovah's witnesses across the country.. as i sat at the kingdom hall listening to the "historic occasion," i was ignoring certain doubts that had surfaced in the few months prior.
just imagine the crazy stories they could invent together !.
ben carson has to be finished as a candidate doesn't he?
can you imagine him being the republican nominee?
I heard Ben Carson's reply to the media about his offer of a scholarship to West Point. He did quite well. He did okay defending his past even though the media could not confirm it.
Don't get me wrong. Ben is living in a fantasy world. Nobody gets a free scholarship to West Point. They all get a free admission when they are chosen. But I could see Ben believe that he was offered what he said. I could see him remembering a stabbing incident that was probably just some stupid careless flinging of a knife or boxcutter or something. I don't see a liar, I see a delusional man.
I laughed and laughed at the comment about Joseph building the pyramids to store grain. That's not in the Bible, people have been inside the pyramids and know what they were built for, plus the timing is all wrong. But why should facts get in the way?
As far as Republicans go, I actually like Ben somewhat. But his plans might be laced with delusional ideas just as bad as his thoughts on the pyramids. And Congress would eat him alive.
2015, 10/20/boe.. .. re: making wise use of printed magazines.. .. page 2: .
this postscript should neither be read to the congregation nor be posted .
on the information board.. .
The pioneers and others are always wanting to fill out high numbers on their slip, including each column with no "ZERO." So working at a booth or encouraging people to go to the website hasn't been satisfying for them.
This also sets them up to allow for a huge shortage of magazines and encouraging the members to "place" something else. As long as they get to "count" it, the members will be fine.
this was posted on fb.. so guys, i'm gonna share something with you all that i think you should know.
i've only told two people about this (one being john cedars) for fear of getting this guy into trouble, but it's very telling and will reaffirm your "ttatt faith!
a couple of weeks ago, i had to have an "ability to protect" assessment by a gentleman from a company that also investigates child protection policies etc.
I copied it from FB it wasn't me. I figured if it was on FB then it was "out there" so ok to post here.
Sorry, I missed that. So somebody else decided to just whisper it on FB, figuring only a few people would notice. Hee Hee.
It does sound like them. Many urgent decisions are being made by lawyers now.
no facts about the world are absolutely certain.
that being the case i wonder how others would rank amd rate their confidence in various factual statements about the world.
i am going to rate my confidence in ten items of "knowledge" as a percentage.
I am getting tired explaining this. For all the reasons I have explained above it is clearly stupid to insist that the earth is definitely not flat. It's daft.
Let me try this one for you. There is this one philosophy that would fit a "flat earth." This philosophy says that our entire existence- the planet, the solar system, the galaxy, the universe as we know it- could all be essentially a holographic projection. We could all be two-dimensional beings in a two-dimensional universe.
See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holographic_principle
The problem is that we live within it, so we need to base our understanding of the universe on our observations from within the two-dimensions. We see spherical objects with three dimensions. So even if such a strange philosophy were true, it wouldn't change "our view."
I don't even give such an idea a fraction of a percentage. If you do that, then you have to give other thoughts a fraction- we are all just a computer simulation or a dream. Only I exist and you all are part of a fake universe meant to distract me/entertain me. YADDA YADDA.
Oh, and thanks for insulting me and others. I would rather be "clearly stupid" than give up my 100%.

So let me get this straight- you fear getting this guy into trouble, so you told a guy who is big in blogs and youtube and then you posted it on this very public forum.
Somehow, I don't think keeping this guy out of trouble by just whispering it to two or three of us was such a concern.
But I will not pass it on.

I can't read eleven pages of response. My numbers are close to those or Village Idiot on page 1, except for a couple.
1. The earth is a sphere rather than flat in shape.
100%. Air travel calculates it. Space satellites depend on it. Photos have been sent. If the United States faked it and the earth was flat, then the Soviet Union or China would have blown the news, or vice versa. All those scientists calculating the universe and observing it via telescope. They know the rest of the universe consists of spherical planets and stars and rocks and things. Too many people to completely fool, and keep on the wrong track as far as advancing knowledge goes.
2. Global warming is a real phenomenon of serious concern that is caused by human activities.
100%. Some of the data will change and details can be argued over, but pumping fossil fuel exhaust from autos and factories into the air has had it's effects. It will change things, but something will survive no matter what we do and life of some sort will rebound even if we humans all die. I am pretty sure we won't. We will adapt to the changes with a smaller population wearing masks, or some kind of life like that.
3. Life on Earth evolved its many forms through the process of natural selection.
100%. Science doesn't have all the details correct, still finding more human-like examples and seeing that not all was super slow in evolving. But there is enough evidence for the general knowledge of how it all came about.
4. The gospels are based on a real apocalyptic preacher called Jesus who lived in first century Palestine.
.001% It has been very unpopular to go so far as to suggest that there was not a "Jesus" who defied the status quo. But as time goes on, it is increasingly done. I give the slightest chance that there was a guy that kind of sort of did this preaching work, but there simply is no evidence whatsoever. It is much more likely that Jesus was a myth of the time of Paul and everyone knew that- kind of like a replacement for the other myths.
5. J F Rutherford was a drunk who cheated on his wife with various women.
80% based on eyewitness testimony. I wasn't there. I wouldn't know different.
6. Smoking causes lung cancer.
99% with qualifications. Some people are genetically resistant and can smoke like a chimney at a hundred years of age.
7. Men really walked on the moon.
100% Too many people to be involved in a conspiracy. The Soviets would have figured it out. They watched their little screens while the U.S. was sending out spacecraft.
8. Consciousness survives death.
0.001% No legitimate proof that this has happened. We die, we are dead.
9. Moses wrote the Pentateuch.
0%. Jews were not slaves in Egypt. Fiction. Moses is fiction.
10. Dragons exist(ed).
0% Based on large animals and myths. The fire breathing is pure fiction.
11. Homeopathy is effective beyond placebo. 1%
5% I would like to vote lower, but I think some unconventional medicine is valid. Too bad that so much quackery comes from this area.
12. O J Simpson was innocent.
0%. He reeked of guilt.
13. Scotland will be an independent country within 20 years.
No clue, but they had chances and didn't do it.
14. There will be a nuclear war sometime in the 21st century.
25%. There will probably be an incident, like there was in Japan. But I don't know about it spiraling into war.
15. The New Testament originally contained the divine name.
.001%. None of the Greek manuscripts of the New Testament contain the Tetragrammaton. The New Testament pointed to Jesus Christ, and use of his name or any reference to him could have caused the same sense of reverence to early readers. And the New Testament writing started long after that name was widely used- remember the idea that the name shouldn't be said.
16. At least one of the presidents of the Watchtower was homosexual.
95%. There were some problems with Leo Greenlees.
17. The universe began in a Big Bang around 14 billion years ago.
95% Data will change as we know more, but the general teachings are sound.
18. China is the country with the most people.
99%. It's slightly above India's population but imperfection in gathering statistics might be misleading.
in a business law class i've been learning all about contracts.
i wonder if for all of those who were baptized prior to the age of 18, if the wt/elders could be forced on our insistence that our dedication/baptism as a minor was made without proper mental capacity and that it be declared invalid, henceforth having never been baptized then family, etc, would be free in wt's eyes to treat as any non-jw vs shunning as an ex-jw.
.
Even if you somehow got your baptism legally annulled, the loyalists would (unofficially) shun you for having gotten it annulled.
Exactly. They will give you what you want and announce: "Heywood J. is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses."
That's all they need to let the shunning begin. Watchtower will say they never insisted that anyone shun Heywood and they consider his baptism void instead of disfellowshipping him.
bank - thank you for maintaining your loan repayments for the past 3 years.
to show our appreciation we are forgiving the balance of your loan.
borrower - yeah!.
tim310rd commented to me on page 3.
I had clearly said "Watchtower started assuming the title to properties upon loaning money to congregations or upon approving a remodeling of the properties."
The key word for your comment would be "started." Yes, I still condensed this less than Cofty, but more needs to be said than I left room for. The main point was that they took away even the building title itself. I doubt that Kingdom Hall that used to not belong to Watchtower still is a hold-out.
Even if it is, they dissolve and create congregations, they remove elders. They write a bad report that your building needs remodeling under the "Seize the title" program they run. Now they seize the money that any individual congregation saved and they better not have a hidden account to pay for remodeling the Hall- just wait a decade or so and LDC (or whatever) will get around to you.
So what's going to happen when the carpets and chairs get old now?
