I talk to JW family. I am not DF'ed and occasionally talk shortly with my wife's friends. For the most part, we agree to avoid JW subjects. My mother breaks the agreement once in awhile.
But I lost all my own JW friends, and that's okay. I would have long ago gotten tired of treading lightly.
As for my wife's friends, I am occasionally invited to "fellowship" with them. I always decline. I have told my wife that as long as I don't "fellowship," the elders don't see a reason to "disfellowship."

I avoid the dubs except for relatives, and we have a pretty standard understanding that we don't talk dub stuff.
I made early attempts to free some family members and it wasn't working. It's more important to me to maintain communication now. -

I cannot take a photo of my license plate for privacy reasons, but I got this number by pure coincidence while I was fading away and kept it through several cars.
It contains the devil's number in plain sight: 36662 -

Drastic Upcoming Changes? (accelerated by the pandemic)
by JWTom ingood to see you again!
much discussion now about the fallout that is coming due to impacts of the pandemic combined with the long-term downward spiral of jw.org.
i am active as a pimo and my wife is pimi....much of our personal conversation and conversation with others in jw land focuses on how things will play out for jw.org in the next 12-24 months.

They will go back to the Kingdom Halls, but many Halls will be sold.
C.O.'s are a big part of keeping them in check, keeping local elders in line. There will be C.O.'s. They could reduce their numbers, but I imagine they will keep visiting Kingdom Halls.
As they consolidate congregations to sell off Kingdom Halls, they will consolidate circuits. The huge reductions in numbers will be their cry that Jehovah has shaken out the unworthy ones and the end is closer than ever.
They might as well use the pandemic as an excuse to end door-to-door witnessing. It is such a time-waster and they really don't make any money from that work. They could push the cart witnessing or just declare that the end is closer than ever and so the warning message has changed. There will be some kind of monthly reports still. Gotta control the members.
I don't know why they would change anything about disfellowshipping. If they do, it would probably be a secret among the elders that disfellowshipping should be rare, but still drag members to a JC and reprove them. -

They have to get their abacus out and calculate what will be best- sell the Kingdom Halls or continue to fleece the flock a little at a time.
I have a feeling that selling the Halls will take such a long time that they will decide to send the sheep back for regular meetings in order for them to drop money in the boxes while they attempt to sell off the Halls. -

3 Types of People?
by minimus inas a rule, there are 3 types.
one is the dramatic over the top person where a hangnail means you might have to get your finger cut off.. the second type is —who me, worry?
i’m not going to let too much of anything bother me unless it really is armageddon.. the third type is the person in between.

There are 3 types of people
Those that understand math and those that do not understand math.
As you can see, I was wrong.
There are only 2 types of people:

They are now saying the end of this system of things is "closer than ever."
Man, they are changing plenty of things nowadays but it's still based on the same basic lies. -

What was the defining moment that started your becoming a JW ?
by smiddy3 inlet me explain what i mean: i was in the company of a workmate when i looked at my hands and my arms and pointed out the veins and said something like look at that, isn`it amazing how veins and arteriies circulate the blood through our bodies ?.
he later explained to me he wasn`t sure what he should say to me as we had been working together for about six years and he had never once brought up about his jw background .he was what we would call a weak witness and he considered me a street kid who swore and drank too much.
i was twenty years old at the time.. i can`t remember the actual conversations that transpired ,but thats what started me down the road to becoming a witness and then convincing my gf to join me and about two years later we were married in a kh.. can you point to any one thing or conversation that started you down the road to becoming a witness?.

Well, yes I can point to one conversation that started me down the road to becoming a witness.
But it really is a case of me setting myself up for it and a JW taking advantage of the setup.
While I was in the U.S. military, I had attempted suicide by putting a gun in my mouth. While I should have known that I just didn't go through with it, I acquired the idea that there was divine intervention when my hair-trigger gun did not go off. I told an E.R. doctor about the attempt and left out my thoughts on divine intervention, saying I just didn't go through with it. I was put in the psychiatric ward.
While in the psychiatric ward, I decided not to share my thoughts that God prevented the gun from firing. It seemed like that would keep me there longer. I was eventually put into a six week in-patient alcoholic program and my mother sent Jehovah's Witnesses to talk to me. After about the fourth visit, I confided in them what I thought about God intervening in my suicide attempt. It seemed to make perfect sense to them. They jumped right in to say that, yes- God saved you because He has a purpose for you to learn and share the good news with others. It even made sense to them not to tell any doctors or counselors about my divine intervention thoughts for fear that I would be put back in the psychiatric ward for observation.
