  Yes, it would be a lie to say that the society is simply about "making money". They may be deluded in certain areas, but there would be more profitable ways to make large sums of money.

  As for lying - well, that is open to debate I suppose.

  They may not intentionally set out to put out false information, so maybe the word lie should be changed to a lesser charge of being foolishly credulous concerning their predications? Although there have been blatant attempts to 'cover tracks' in my estimation by disregarding old texts alluding to failed prophecy etc.

  However, their policies still damage & hurt people due to the inflexible nature of their dogma.

  It may seem trite and overworn to you, but I do not think it is redundant to point out that the very people you malign with your Nazi comparisons are ones who courageously as a group stood against the atrocities that the Nazis perpetrated. They deserve better.

  That is a good point of course... BUT...

  Is it not true that JWs walk around slaughtering people at Armageddon within their own minds? If there were a ruling in the New Testament to stone people to death for a variety of moral transgressions, how many of the nutjobs you know (or knew) would willingly pick a nice shiney old boulder and throw it?

  I still struggle daily with sociopathic feelings and often despise many humans I meet, but I'm working on these feelings. Its an ongoing project

  i left jws 10 yrs ago and have just considered myself drifted.

  could never go back as i personally found it too hard to live up to.

  I understand how you feel.

  Its probably best not to throw out the baby with the bathwater - a belief in a creator God for instance is not a concept that needs to be jettisoned simply because we fall foul of one particular version of truth. Did you know that beyond Semitic mythology & philosophy, that there were other cultures who believed (and believe) in a singular divine essence to the universe?

  Other cultures have also taught of the end of a great cycle or an ' end time ' of sorts. I think it is sensible to still understand the times we are living in and inevitably as has happened throughout mankinds history we will burn out again and then rise like the phoenix whether at Gods hands or through our own efforts.

  Do not despair - in the meantime indulge yourself and read "In Search of Christian Freedom / Raymond Franz" - he will help transform your mind & feelings concerning the WTBTS and present the lonely road that now stretches before you. Afterall, we are born into this world and leave this world alone and the spiritual journey for each of us is often solitary & personal.

  Rank & File JW in MY opinion are wonderful folk

  Hmm.... hardly. They believe that most people on the outside of the group are God-fodder and won't take any alternative information seriously due to institutionalized arrogance. There are maybe a handful who fall into the 'decent' category, but largely they are sociopathic.

  I wouldn't bother SkyKing - he sounds like an egotist & muppet - you are likely to be abused. I'm sure the poster has had a good look at the evidence before.

  The WTBTS flirted with NGO status and deceived their sheep - simple as that. They weren't upfront & honest. Period.

  i have been hearing about a secret socioty called the illuminati.

  i started seeing some connections on my own between illuminati and what i heard when i was at the meetings when i was younger.

  Personally, I have no great interest in numerology, yet accept at the same time that there is ' truth ' within the ' fact ' that fraternities use numbers as a means of empowerment, as well as arcane symbols. I also believe that symbols & numbers link into the immateria/astral plain (where lower & higher spirit creatures dwell) and this plain through gateways etched and developed by the careful focusing of human will, influence affairs upon the earth. This is where sacred geometry plays its part. Afterall, God is math, and also our word is a means to an end.

  The Illuminati in my considered opinion exists nowadays as a ' concept ' or ' ideology ' which we who study such matters use to describe the overriding philosophy of secret orders, like Skull & Bones and the international Free Masons (amongst others).

  Where as in the 18th century, this group certainly was created and helped kick start a new order of powerful individuals who shared similar goals of global domination for what they would have considered the greater good and we would generally consider as enslavement to an olagarchy.
