I've noticed that at times, Jesus is referred to as 'Lord.' However, Jehovah is referred to as 'Sovereign Lord.'
Sorta the same thing as 'the Word(Jesus) was a god.' Not the God. That title would be reserved for Jehovah only.
i ran across this on truthsearcher.
i would appreciate anyone's thoughts on this.. __________.
who is the "alpha and omega" and the first and last"-jesus or jehovah?.

earlier, i had asked about changes under the thread, "new truth".
your replies were interesting and informative, or should i say it was meat in due season and i found it upbuilding.
i have another question: is the new world view still the same.
Sorry Larc,
I meant that you should focus on making sure you're going to be in the new world and living your life out in a manner that would allow you to be there. Then, and only then can you find out what it's really like and have your questions answered.
roy, .
your absolution if you have any coming will be from god and not from humans.
your confession needs to be directed toward him and not us.. -seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it-
Hi Roy,
I think what Frenchy meant was that maybe you should approach God directly through prayer. He can offer much more assitance than we ever could, especially just on the internet. Ask for assistance in dealing with your problem. You don't need money to do it, and there's no drugs involved.
It's also very commendable that you want to get past that problem as well. You should be proud of that. Some choose to revel in it. A couple of years ago in my area, there was an incident at a high school involving a chicken and some FFA members. Unfortunately, word spread quickly through town, because they had the gall to videotape it.
Having the urge is not necessarily wrong, but you've been able to control them, and keep from giving. Again, that is very commendable. Our prayers'll be with you, Roy.

Path is right, just wait on Jehovah. Right now, just worry about being there so you can find out, kapiche?
hi all-this is my first post.
i've been reading some of the other posts here and i just want to say how much i enjoy the freedom of speech i find on this db.
what a relief and a breath of fresh air.
Hi PLH, nice to have you here! I'm pretty new myself. Have fun!
i recently read a post on the net regarding how often men think about sex.
i started to think about how often i did.
i followed this up with a survey on antoher site and found i ranked low and they told me i had sexual problems.
Isn't the body just as important? If you don't take care of your body and you die, you can't very well take care of yourself spiritually, can you? On the other hand, if you don't take care of yourself spiritually, you won't be around to worry about your body either.hehe So the two go hand-in-hand, see?
Paul was generally speaking of fleshly desires(sexual included) that could weaken one's faith.
i was raised as a witness.
i had many very bad experiences.
they changed the whole direction of my life.. has anyone ever wondered where the money goes.
A lot of it goes toward building Kingdom Halls. I live outside of Houston, and just in the greater Houston area, 50 new halls are needed. In fact, another regional building committee will have to be appointed. In Mexico, a whopping 240 are needed by the end of next 2001.
And this isn't a 'just in case' buildup, this is to keep up with the current numbers.

Well if Paul meant the congregation as a body, and the members of the congregation as body members...Does that mean that Paul was saying to numb up all the congregation members so that they would be deadened?lol Nope.
Paul was talking about deading body members as respects fornication, adultery, etc. If you are afraid of falling into sexual wrongdoing, do your best to keep your mind off of sex to resist temptation.
[quote]8 there were also in that same country shepherds living out of doors and keeping watches in the night over their flocks.
9 and suddenly jehovah's angel stood by them, and jehovah's glory gleamed around them, and they became very fearful.
10 but the angel said to them: "have no fear, for, look!
Hey Seven, what do you need the lights for? Just chow down on some ham!
the brochure "the new millenium- what does the future hold for you?
" was just deliverd to my house this morning.
my wife answered the door and took it from an elder jw that i saw walking away as my wife shut the door.
Well like yesterday's text from Examining the Scriptures Daily brought out, we can not only look to the publications, but just a dictionary as well. There are reference Bibles, the Insight on the Scriptures, etc. This was in the previous Watchtower we studied, with three great lessons talking about Bible reading, personal study, and application of what we learn.
And the elders don't have to use the publications everytime. Sometimes they might have greater understanding of the Scriptures than we do. Notice I said 'sometimes,' and 'might.' I don't want everyone jumping on me for saying the elders are ommniscient. My dad is one, so I know they aren't.
Oh yeah, I forgot to answer waiting: I'm only 20, so that issue didn't have much effect on me. Still doesn't, since I'm not even dating yet. I've got congregational responsibilities, college, and work to worry about, so I'll take the bridge whenever I come to it.
