Those JW's who know my point of view, yes. Not DF or DA, so if I bump into a JW from my old cong they greet as per normal ...(This however, does not happen often)
My family know my position and shun me quite nicely thank you. My sister, BIL, and their kids...zero contact. My parents, they say nothing even when they are in Cape Town visiting their mates. (they live in Johannesburg)
My in-laws, they phone on the odd accasion. I cannot recall if they did recently..maybe 6 months ago.

i thought it was a downright blasphemous thing to say!

The apostles could take a hint, if the people did NOT want to hear it, were they not supposed to shake the dust off their feet and go to the next town? Preaching there while staying at a house in that town to carry on the message?
The scriptures show clearly that they did not go about bullying people at the door. They went to public places to preach. Jesus himself went to the temple to speak to his people. He even went inside, read from the scrolls, discussing them with the pharisees and sadducees... (Oh horrors! Can you imagine doing field service and selling your Watchtowers in a temple or a church?) Go check it out.
House to house as the WTB&TS proclaim it to mean, is not what Jesus and the early Christians did.

i get the feeling many x-jws are floating about aimlessly and don't join christendom, still living with the jw indoctrinated belief that they are all the work of the devil.

are they supposed to sit around in small groups in their living rooms reading scripture like ray franz recommended in crisis of conscience?

I had that problem while 'inside' as some of you know. I had an almost militant attitude at the door, "you will hear me and my Governing Body inspired message regardless of your so called 'hint'!!!"
True story:
A friend was in a elevator, when a lady got in at one of the stops. First I must explain, he does not do hints, he is blunt and believes honesty above all else.
This woman reeks of perfume, and its almost suffocating. As the door opens on his floor he turns to her and says "Perfume is supposed to be subtle, not 'smell me if you like it or not" Her jaw dropped as he held her gaze while the door closed.

i remember when i like a real stupid ass went to a committee meeting for enjoying committing so called immorality, when in my view i was making love and i enjoyed every dam minute of it.
