Don't get me wrong, I'm all for kids doing chores, but have you actually seen the programs on them? They have responsibilities no child should have.

JW's ruin your sex life?
by NYerGirl inafter a year or so of being a "lurker" (since i know some of you despise that word, say, instead, window shopper?
), i finally signed up.
for the last week or so, i've come to the sight every day and i've learned a lot and also remembered more than maybe i wanted to.. so here's my issue: i've been married for 1 1/2 years, together with this man for 5+ years.

They can only ruin it if you let them into your bedroom.
And I don't believe that they should be there in the first place.
Sex is private between consenting adults and no outsiders have the right, religious or not, to interfere with that.

Hopeless with names! I went to lots of canberra assemblies though and would probably recognize faces. That's about all.

I sympathize wth you, and only wish that papers would publish letters like this. It may make others think twice before joining the jw's. I suppose they would have legal issues etc with publishing?
Does anyone know if they would publish something similar if you paid for an add and took full responsibility for it?

I don't think the children have sole responsibility for anything-such as laundry. One of the things on the website spoke of the mom up late at night exhausted from doing the laundry.
I hate to disagree, and I may be completely wrong, but the mother doing laundry up late was way back years ago when they only had 5 or so kids. If the program a couple of nights ago is recent, and they have moved into their new house, so I think it is, the mother was talking about the kids different 'jurisdictions' and jinjer (12) had the laundry chore on her own, others had different jobs to do all over the house, some of them I don't think should be given to kids.
I agree when the kids reach 6+ they tend to do their own thing, but when they are saddled with chores as big as the laundry, cooking, cleaning bathrooms, surely it's time to draw the line???

I googled my name (married one) not so long ago (I was bored, OK!) and the strangest coincidence came up!
About 2 years before I got married and about 1 year before I knew my husband, on a show here called Blue Heelers, there was a family with the same last name as mine, and the mum and dad had the same first name as us!!!
SPOOKY!!!

Talk on Apostates
by IslandBrother inhave you ever walked on the beach and tried following another persons footprints; matching your own steps with them as exactly as possible?
by calling ourselves christians, we have indicated our desire to do just that, to follow closely in the footsteps of christ.
have you ever noticed though that on a crowded beach, , there were several sets of footprints, many of them may look alike.

Found-my-way,
Hope you don't mind, but I'm going to 'borrow' you words. I only hope the receiver will read and think about them.

At the risk of being thought a freak myself, I used to want 14 kids! Then I had one:) They are a lot of work. I don't condemn the Duggars or think they can't love them enough. If they can do it, more power to them.
No, your not a freak! I still would like more children, as after the first 3, the next 2 didn't really add any extra work. But I would say as I said before, that there should be a limit. Kids need your attention and time, and if your honest, between normal household duties, how much time can you give 16 children individually?

I found some books! What did you do with yours?
by SacrificialLoon ini knew i had some so i was looking in some boxes and found a few including the super deluxe nwt bible with the cross references.
on one hand i'm tempted to throw em all out, but on the other i feel like keeping them, maybe as some kind of demented memento.
on the other other hand it'd mean one fewer box cluttering up a closet.. what did you all do with your old err.. literature?

Why Is There a Seemingly Large Percentage of X JW Jerks?

I generally find that because on most forums you can remain anonymous, that people feel 'safe' in saying things they would not dare say to a persons face. Likewise on the phone. Dare them to say it to your face, and they will most times run the other way! This is my experience anyways. I always try not to say (or post) things that I would not say to their face, because if I can't or won't say it face to face, then I don't say it at all.
