What's with all the JWs unleashing the hate!?
by Julia Orwell inmost of us here on jwn, while we can get a bit narky at times, can put forth intelligent arguments and sound observations.
sure we can get bogged down with our opinions, but generally we back up our opinions with examples and evidence, and if someone has a different opinion with examples and evidence, we accept that without recriminations.
that's what adults do.. so my question is, why in the last week or so, have a couple of posters claiming to be jws come onto this forum and berated, spewed hate and judgement, and in some cases verbally attacked members personally?

by 5go inwell the guy that outed pretty much gloated about it at work i reported him to the boss but i think he has poisoned the well as the boss is borderline acussing me of things.
i am feel like getting an attorney and sorting this out the hard way.
he has been spying for a month according to his own admission.. .

The thing that scared me was he pretty much confessed he wanting to hit me when he confronted me. I pretty much told him to get conseling like now.

Oh no he turned this web site in as evidence plus the info from photobucket linking this acount to me. I need to pry further becuase I think he said he did some hacking into files if so on a site. If I can get which site I will alert it to the breach he might have some explaining to do.

The boss basically forced us into a pow wow. It was like pearing into insantity's eyes. Talk about the sterotyped JW. BTW I think he recorded the conversation at work. Anyways I was BRAZEN in stating I no long believe in the BS. He tried to sound sympethetic but I have my doubts about it or he would not of told the elders a month ago. Which explains the way the congregation heavies acted at the AGM.

So how exactly did this "new translation" come to be?
by sir82 ina normal person, upon hearing that a new (or revised) bible translation has been released, would have 2 questions spring to mind almost immediately:.
1) who did the work, and what are their credentials?.
2) what manuscripts is the work based on?.

From what little I read of the thing it looks like someone put it through a standard grammar check program and replaced older and inconveint words with new ones.

New and SAD...

i found some comfort to know that i am not alone in my challenging of my faith.

Yeah Rebel8 makes a good point in my group alcoholism is pretty much a form of self medicating. So AA won't work, at least by it's self. You have to get at the underlying depression or mental illness first before you really think about tackling the alcohol addiction.
