Thanks for sharing with us your experiences. I don't doubt your story about the df'd sister and I believe that you didn't embellish it. I have too often seen very similar behavior. In fact, I partook in despicable shunning behavior on several occasions.

Aren't we back in the same boat as the JW's? How in the h*** can this be accomplished? It would take way past our lifetimes to reach all people with this message, if at all. I don't think it's possible. It would take an ad campaign like the world has never seen to reach all people. I'm not just talking in my lifetime, but possibly hundreds of years to garner enough support to be able to reach billions of people.
So, if this is the case, what's the point? Most people will be dead by the time we can reach them. It's seems like a lost cause.

I'm still a little foggy on how you apply these ancient prophecies to JW's. You did say that they carry God's name, but it just seems strange to apply words from the bible thousands of years ago to a short period of time that WE, of all people are living in right now. You are applying these scriptures to a religion that I ignorantly joined 16 years ago. This is too much to comprehend.
So, I would appreciate hearing more, so that I can research for myself how these things apply, or how they don't.

Any scripture dealing with blood, the fds has screwed up. Now that I think about it, they've screwed up just about every scripture.

just wanted to know if any one has any idea's or personal experience in regard to drug and alcohol abuse in former jw's.
all the one's i know have just lost the plot when it comes drugs and alcohol, especially drug use.

I agree with the above posts. Alcohol IS prevalent among JW's. Beer was the first thing offered to me at most social occasions at JW's homes and get togethers. But then, I was not included in many get togethers because of having an "unbelieving" mate. Usually, eating out after conventions, the brothers downed several pitchers of beer. That's what I remember the most about conventions.
Trying to be a straight and hard line JW, I was often appalled at the brothers behavior away from the meetings. "God's" people sure acted strange outside the meetings, I thought.

the mysteries locked up in the book or revelation have for long baffled sincere students of the bible.
in god's due time, those secrets had to be unlocked, but how, when, and to who?

But seriously, the net has opened the door to learning about the other side. This is one technology that works against the WTS. Well, just about every technology works against the WTS.

How do you explain the scriptures that the WTS uses to show they are the appointed slave? I haven't heard any other explanations. But then, I was one of those ignorant JW's that went along with everything.
