  Goes to show that F...ing with people's minds does pay dividends .

  This folks is just Canada which has a population of only 34 million.

  I would like to take a look at a recent financial statement for the WTS. in the States

  which has a population of 314 million and after the WTS. sells off all their buildings in Brooklyn.

  Send that number around to the local JWs and see if their crying about the organization needing their money

  still holds ground. The WTS. is really a Publishing Corporation which has a business model working inside itself, including a portfolio

  of outside investments that the majority of JWS have little knowledge of.

  They just hear that the organization is in need of money for helping the preaching work, We Take Visa

  If there's nothing suspicious or wrong with the way the WTS. operates and handles its accumulative money, why don't

  they openly show its financial working to each congregation or body of its members ?

  Why hide its financial operations from the people who have donated their own wealth toward an organization

  that supposed to be honest and forthright ?

  Eating Blood v Transfusion . . . same thing?

  the wts ban on the transfusion of whole blood or primary components is established on a number of "principles" which when taken in their entirety give rise to the doctrine.. one important one is the refusal to distinguish between the consumption of blood by eating .

  and the consumption of blood by surgically implanting it (transfusion).

  we've all heard the "alcohol" analogy.

  I have heard this for years, and to this day I have yet to see a single plausible legal theory put forth creating the alleged liability. For those who think this liability exists, what is the legal theory for your view?

  Thats a interesting question that piqued my own curiosity as well.

  Could the organization be held libel for supporting the self inflicting form of suicide by encouraging the person to refuse a BT,

  adding more libel imposed toward the organization when the doctrine was removed ?

  Or would this situation go under the freedom of religion guidelines, since its the individual who's made the decision to forgo a BT

  inducing their own deaths ?

  Enven if a religion comes out and admits it made a mistake are they still legally libel for the doctrines they created and the effects

  those doctrines had upon the general public ?

  Perhaps into the future we can see some name changing for the organization itself as well toward the names of any

  published works coming out of the organization .

  Whoever said the WTS. leaders had sound logical sense of reasoning concerning biblical scripture interpretation ?

  Its obvious that the Mosaic laws concerning the use of blood was mostly concerned about the eating of blood which is still applied today

  by strident Orthodox Jews.

  The ancients didn't know what blood was for as part of the biology of animals, all they knew was that if blood pored out

  of animals or humans that death occurred, hence this gave it sacred significance to them.

  Orthodox Jews still perceive the sacredness of blood intact in the medical procedure of blood transfusions.

  I think God is trying to tell me something

  in the past month, i've two very powerful experiences that make me think god might be trying to tell me something.

  let me relate these experiences.. about a month ago, i was looking for something missing from my life, i felt empty.

  i went in search of something to fill the emptiness and suddenly found myself face to face with jw's in service and immediately after i no longer felt empty and i found what i was searching for.

  i recently read in discover magazine that scientists have found a way to turn on and off memory cells in our brain.

  they say that this is good news for people with post traumatic stress disorder, which i was diagnosed with a few years ago.

  this, to me, brings up the ethical question of what did the traumatic events in my life, and the lives of others, add to society as a whole?

  I have a lot of anger because of what has happened to me throughout my life and my genetic struggles with mental illness.

  In any case, I hope you eventually find your way completely detached from your psychological problems in to the future.

  You seem to be like a good sort of fellow, honestly trying to look for answers to your own problems as we all do !

  By the way don't ever throw your young child into a deep part of a lake to teach them how to swim.

  My own father did that to me when I was about 5 or 6, I had deeply scared psychological problems for a long time afterward as a result and it didn't

  really help in my swimming ability at all.

  One thing we have to regrettably accept is are older parents know little of human psychology, in similar fashion to the ancients in biblical times,

  there's that genetic connection once again.

  Sab, there's no question of that piece of Art you posted on your opening post is truly beautiful, the artist is very talented and skilled.

  But you must realize that one could also pick out a segment of another religious belief system, ancient or modern

  and turn that into a beautiful piece of Art as well.

  Yes it is possible to turn any expressive imaginative thought into Art.

  This is not science though, its more a wanting illusion entwined with human emotion, for better or worse its still an illusion.

  Aren't today's modern day religionists such as the JWS really professionally trained illusionists ?

  To use your own description then, the genetics of the ancients inspired men to strive for answers from the gods to

  toward (theirs) mankind's problems, the genetics of men in are era are more consumed to investigate answers by other means,

  more often than not by applying the scientific method.

  One notable fact that we can still hold on to today is that we are in the same human gene pool of the ancients that lived so many years ago.

  Sab, you started a thread topic with little containing conceptual logic, people here have tried to follow you on your thinking out of kindness

  and compassion toward your thoughts. They couldn't find anything acutely rational on your thinking or make any supportive agreement,

  perhaps thats because there was nothing in logical sense to agree with you upon.

  In retort you called them assassinating bullies.

  There's something you just have to realize is that the bible and its writings are JUST expressive thoughts of ancient people trying live

  in the confines of their own ignorance of the world they lived in, as well the struggles they endured, most of the same struggles that we

  try and live with today.

  The only beneficiaries of the Watchtower Corporation are those few at the top who control it nobody else benefits from it .

  The WTS. was and still is a publishing house ( Business) disguised or framed within a religion.

  Its doctrines were created to help in supporting this ( Religious ) business.

  People who became idealistically identified with this business were given the perception that they were

  quite unique in the world, where in a reality they're just being exploited to be sales Representatives to this publishing house.

  Is the Watchtower shy about repeating their new "generation" teaching?

  as i recall in the 1980s talks and watchtower literature, magazines and books were always talking about the "generation" teaching and how it proved armageddon was going to come any day now.. but am i correct in thinking they have only actually mentioned the new "overlapping generations" teaching once or twice in the literature?

  why are they so shy about talking about their great new interpretation?

  it's almost enough to make you suspect they are a embarrassed about it.. mention it once or twice, don't dwell on it, hope everyone just accepts it, and don't bring it up again.
