  The Already Tired Argument of Bin Laden's Guilt

  there has been several threads since the start of the war on afghanistan (and before it), concerning the issue of bin laden's guilt.

  many have seen the obvious, that he and those who harbor him, are guilty, and that the attacks on afghanistan are completely justified if not the only choice for the u.s. still others claim the ridiculous notion that "evidence" should have been presented to the taliban first, and a "trial" should have been held for bin laden before any actions were taken.

  i realize most readers on this forum could care less, and the fact remains that the few of us who have argued these points are pretty tired of talking in circles.

  . I'm just wondering: if he was directly involved and knew everything about it (possibly giving direct orders), why didn't he confess right away, preferably the minute it happened, for increased effect? Why did he wait so long? Doesn't make sense to me.

  afghanistan has been his private little palace for some time now. he funds the taliban, and in return he has full run of the countryside, setting up terrorist training camps and getting full government (if you can call the taliban that) support along the way.

  so why did he wait so long to confess? my guess is that he fully realized the impact and implications of what he and his army had just carried out. he no doubt knew that once evidence linked al qaeda to the bombings, that afghanistan and his own little govt. (the taliban) would no doubt feel the wrath of the u.s., and his personal paradise would come under attack. he was delaying the inevitable i guess. or maybe he thinks the u.s. is so naive that they wouldnt have ever linked him to the attacks. weve seen the taliban use this same manuever/tactic. whether they believed us to be naive, or were just stalling, they definitely layed lies across the board many times when we were trying to get them to surrender bin laden. notice when the real truth came out, from the taliban and from bin laden: after the attacks on afghanistan had begun. i tend to lean toward the "stalling" theory myself, perhaps preparing and recruiting troops in the meantime, setting up strategic locations and hiding places. this makes more sense, as i doubt bin laden and the taliban are that stupid to think we wouldnt eventually discover the entire truth. furthermore, it is my belief that the taliban and al qaeda are actually one party, all involved in the planning and carrying out of the attacks in one way or another.

  these are merely my theories, for which i have no hard backing. certainly this would answer the question that was puzzling you if true, or i could be all wet.

  If Bin Laden didn't exist, he would have to be invented - he's a face, he's a target, he's a figure to be ridiculed and hated.

  nah, we wouldnt have to invent him, weve always got hussein.

  i think you misunderstood my stance, but then again i dont think you were involved in our previous discussions on the topic, so its natural for you to jump to conclusions.

  I think American citizens need to accept what happened and not look for a show trial or anything external to 'bring closure' if they continue desperately seeking solice other than in themselves they won't find it.

  i agree 100%. for me, the war in afghanistan if far from closure, but merely the beginning. i do believe the actions are justified, but in no way do they provide any solice for americans.

  My sincerest hope is that the war on terrorism extends into every nook and cranny of the earth and world leaders get serious and forge some basic changes in world governance to bring peace and security to us all.

  this is my hope as well, and i am not an idealist.

  "anonymously"? sounds like a line from the enquirer. the fact is, we will never know for a fact how much evidence they did or did not have. my guess is that they did indeed have overwhelming evidence right from the very beginning, too sensitive to release to the public, and maybe even too sensitive to release to these anonymous "senior" leakers. but like i said, we will never know.

  .....while the principle of having trials etc... is great in theory and works for normal citizens & crimes it isn't always practical where terrorism & wars are involved.

  EXACTLY.....this is precisely what ive been saying all along. courtroom trials have their place, but when someone declares war on a nation, its not always that simple and neatly packaged.

  your response wasnt supposed to be anything. then again, my original post on this thread wasnt specifically directed at you, nor did any of my posts contain information that you were supposed to respond to, yet you still seemed to muster a reply to almost all of them in your usual 5 yr. old fashion. i wonder why that is? actually i dont wonder, i know. you reply when you feel someone has left you an opening to use a personal attack. then, when that person finally leaves you with no more responses, stuttering over your thoughts and tripping over your grammar, you tuck your tail between your legs and move on. youre never supposed to respond to anything, but you do respond to alot.......anytime you can throw in an insult.

  classic example of a personal attack for no apparent reason. your words are an attempt (transparently obvious) at acheiving hurt. you know my mother has passed, so you believe somewhere in your delusional mind that you can affect me with comments about her. your immature tactics fool no one. so why this need to attack? does it make you a bigger person? my theory is that its an overcompensation for your low self esteem. low self esteem often leads to another form of overcompensating, which is bringing attention to ones looks; in a word, bragging:

  well, the "chicks" might have said it, but you shouting their "rating" from the rooftops for all to hear shows just how insecure you must be. id also be willing to guess that your constant talk of fighting is due to the fact that you cant beat your way out of a paper bag. its all part of the "little dick" syndrome. i pity people like you; perhaps you can someday come to grips with it all, no pun intended, LOL.

  lol, like i said, this is common knowledge to anyone whos ever stepped into a gym, lifted a weight, used a supplement. i have tried andro, on a very limited basis, didnt get much results from it. i prefer creatine, and sometimes betagen (which has creatine in it), once in awhile a fat burning compound with ephedrine or the herbal version of it. the best supplement of all ive found though, is good ol' fashioned protein, shake form being the easiest. they arent as bad tasting as most people make them out to be, and they are very effective.

  as much as youd like to believe nytel, you are not the only person who enjoys bodybuilding, in fact its been catching on for decades now, and most of these supplements are well known among middle schoolers, let alone people my age. though you believe your knowledge to be vast in this area, it is merely common as ive pointed out. in actuality though, your belief in the honesty behind my words is really extremely unimportant to me; if you wish to believe my search engine capabilities create my facade of knowledge, i wont lose any sleep over it, LOL.

  lisa, i cant remember, but were you the one who talked about the way nytel "hijacks" threads, and spins them of into his own direction (which is always slanted at some sort of mud-slinging or personal attacks btw)? lately ive seen exactly what you meant by that, even today ive noticed it twice. this type of behavior is no doubt due to attention starvation. just look at his amount of posts, and tell me how many youve seen that actually added substance to any argument/discussion, or were actually beneficial to anyone.
  the majority of his posts fall into one of three categories:

  1. defense of the very society that he hypocritically makes a mockery of daily

  2. personal attacks that accomplish little outside of detracting the worth of his own words

  3. mindless photos accompanied by wolf whistles and drool

  i know exactly how you take andro, its pill form, and its best to take it with an estrogen blocker among other things. this is common knowledge, and the phrase "pumping yourself full of" could be used for anything, pills, injections, hell even alcoholic beverages. some people are just simple minded and always will be. the testosterone is eating away at your brain cells nytel, your posts sound progressively less intelligent.

  I can tell by the posts that you all miss him! In fact, it is my current viewpoint that you all would like him to come out and play. The trap is now bated...............

  miss him? did he leave and i missed it? as far as bating a trap for him, i dont think thats the intention of any posts on this thread (when i first encountered yk, i too was very curious as to his true identity, due to his self-annointed stature coupled with obvious apostasy). at least anyone thats ever dealt with our favorite blubbering lunatic knows he wont post on threads like this. anytime he has to actually refute something instead of merely proclaiming, he simply chooses not to. its a way to avoid putting his foot in his mouth, giving us any extra ammo, that sort of thing. along these same lines, he also refuses to reply to any and all accusations/comments involving his past performance (or lack thereof) in the prediction dept. you gotta hand it to the guy, hes very sly. he is extremely adept at using the snake-like tactics he is so fond of accusing others of.
