  i am sorry, but the way bush demanded this (without any diplomacy involved) over the media was purely for propaganda and of course not a sincere offer anyone could or would accept.

  you speak as if the ultimatum was the first time bush offered saddam a chance to leave. perhaps you havent been keeping up on the news, but the bush administration had been repeating their stance for some time now, that they would encourage exile. its about regime change, not killing one man. why would we have a need to hunt him down and kill him if we had already taken over the iraqi government? youre not using your head here. this thinking that we have to kill saddam doesnt even fit with your stated opinion of our objectives (that this is all about oil). if saddam was out of iraq with zero power, couldnt we easily secure the oil fields?

  you fail to realize that there is always good a REASON for terrorism.

  why dont you just justify 9/11 why youre at it? these types of comments make me sick.

  what bush does is not eliminating that reason but enhancing it

  this is such a tired argument. these terrorists think they have a mandate from allah to wipe americans and jews (and american jews, lol) off the face of the earth. this mandate does not get stronger with provocation, nor would it subside if we did nothing. what the attack on iraq does do, is gives them a different and new excuse to come after us......but without the attack on iraq, they would simply use one of their old excuses (occupation of the holy land).......their mission will not end, regardless of our actions.

  what exactly do you believe bush is going to do with the oil fields after the war?.

  the bush administration had already agreed to let him go into exile (of course if youre the paranoid type that believes bush cannot tell the truth about anything, then i suppose that would be lost on you). if saddam wouldve ever once even considered it publicly, then those types of negotiations could go on. should we sign a treaty even though saddam went on the record several thousand times saying he would never, ever, ever go into exile? obviously this debate has become a joke. saddam has proven himself irrational, even by your standards, and you just refuse to admit it (though id have to guess youve finally admitted it to yourself). by the way, its been reported that many other arab nations had also privately offered safe exile to hussein, even practically begging him to come in order to avert war. the man never even considered any offers......of course with your technicalities, there was never any real offer....they were all just fakes.

  i was asking for detailed opinions of what will actually happen, as opposed to the standard line that keeps getting regurgitated. obviously youd rather reguritate the standard lines, lol.

  You miss the point. Whether the Iraqis 'control' the oil fields or not is meaningless, what matters is where the MONEY from the oil goes.

  I maintain it will not be going to Iraq.

  i understand what youre saying here, and all i am asking is will there be a way to prove solidly where the money is going after the fact? or will we simply be "lied to"(in your view), and have no way of really knowing? basically, will your stance be provable at some point?

  I'd be AMAZED if, after occupying Baghdad and taking control of Iraq, if the US just flew all the troops home and let the UN take over.

  it has been rumored that the u.n. has been secretly working this entire time on post-war iraq scenarios. i predict that the u.n. will indeed play a big part in the post-war iraq. the fact that we are defying the u.n. on the subject of war doesnt mean we find the u.n. useless. the list of past military actions without u.n. support is a long one.
