  also if i am wrong with assuming that you support US foreign politics than i gladly apologize.

  just to futher answer that, no i dont support everything our government does, and i dont support all foreign policies blanketly. i think this stigma gets put on bush supporters, that we robotically follow our leader, and accept everything that comes from his mouth as 100% true, and the right thing to do. while i do happen to agree with our stance on regime change in iraq, i dont agree with everything we do. in fact, i think we handled the iraq situation poorly in many aspects, and its led to worldwide opposition to a neccesary (my opinion) operation.

  i mean how realistic is that? this would require behind the scene negotiations that take much longer than 48 hours.

  ugh...broken record scenario here, but ill spell it out for you one more time. the u.s. encouraged exile LONG BEFORE the 48 hour deadline. if saddam had an any time indicated (even privately) to the u.s. that he would consider exile, then those types of negotiations could have taken place. there was much more time given to hussein than the 48 deadline. he gave zero indications to the u.s. or the arab world that he would ever even consider leaving. everyone who even knows the slighest bit about saddam knows he would never admit defeat by leaving.

  If Saddam was killed, would that make it more likely that Iraq would surrender? Or would it put Saddam's son in charge and the war would continue ?

  the war will continue regardless, until we have complete control. saddams sons would take over in the event of his death, but surely the death of saddam, his two sons, and other key leaders would expedite the surrendering of some, i would think. saddams loyal republican guard will probably fight to the bloody end though, which could very likely mean urban warfare in baghdad.

  have you heard of the fact that the US was targeting civilians in WWII, the korean war, vietnam, etc.? not accidentially but willingly!

  btw, when did i say that i condoned every action the u.s. has ever taken? two wrongs dont make a right, and nothing the u.s. has done in the past justifies the wtc slaughter, or any other terrorist attack. again, youre not going to suck me into your sick logic.

  now let me ask you this...if your wive and your children were killed by arabs would you want to go to war and kill them?

  if my wife and children were killed by "arabs", and i could get to the bottom of who exactly was behind it, then yes i would want justice to be served. would i want to go to war with their country and target their wives and children? no i would not. you can give me all this "most people would" crap, but im not part of the group you speak of. just because this is your opinion of "most people", you cant simply lump me into some generalized group.

  i am not at all justifying the killing of innocent civilians but i can understand why it happens.

  understanding why and saying they have a "good" reason are two different things. if you are going to come on here and tell us all that there are always "good" reasons for terrorists to slaughter civilians, then yes, you are indeed justifying the attacks, and you are justifying 9/11. you might as well have been cheering along with them.

  how come only dead US civilians are a tragedy however dead iraqis, panamese, germans, japanese, palestinians, vietnamese, koreans, afghani etc. are colateral damage? you mean just because the murderer is wearing a US uniform makes it better?

  it has nothing to do with the uniform they are wearing. it has to do with the difference between targeting civilians and targeting military personnel during a military conflict. the fact that civilian lives are lost during a war doesnt justify targeting the men and women sitting at their desks getting ready to start their work day. ill never bow to this sick logic.

  if someone looses his family or is forced to live in utter poverty because of US (=israeli) actions than i would say he has a good reason to make a "terrorist" attack.

  i realize you think it gives them a good reason, which is why i think your view is disgusting. you remind me of the men, women, and children that were cheering as the twin towers crumbled. its sick and pathetic.

  i said i would be willing to admit it if it becomes apparent. what does my opinion have to do with the lives of thousands of people though? this war was going to take place regardless of my views.....your logic is a bit off here. also, for it to become apparent that it was all for profit, a few things would have to take place. 1) we find no wmd anywhere in iraq, 2) saddam is never at anytime in the future solidly linked to any terrorist groups, 3) the u.s. takes and keeps control of the money generated from iraqs oil fields. as xander put it, errr, i kinda doubt those things will happen. im guessing item 1 will clear up alot of issues for everyone. i have been wrong before though, and like i said, im not above admitting it if this actually does become apparent.

  yes there is a reason for 9/11 ! you may not like it but thats the way it is.

  i know there is a reson for 9/11....there is a reason for any terrorist attack. what i dont think, is that anyone has a good reason to target 20,000 civilians, as you do. there will always be a reason, as derek said, but not all of us justify it the way you do. your view on this truly makes me sick.

  1. bush never negotiated with hussein about exile. he demanded it over the media. this is not how it works.

  and as i said before, if hussein wouldve ever, at any given time, even once given any indication to anyone that he would at least consider exile, then these types of negotiations you speak of might have been able to take place. but as we both know, saddam never gave that indication. we couldve gauranteed saddam a nice mansion to live in under the protection of a thousand armies and he wouldve refused it. cant you see hes way to proud to ever leave his country? leaving his homeland would be a major sign of weakness, and a defeat.......two things he would never bring on himself. if you knew as much about saddam as you think you do, youd already know this to be true.
